Big Double for Kurganov Leaves Robl Short

Level 10 : 10,000/20,000, 2,000 ante

Andrew Robl raised to 40,000 from under the gun, and action folded to Igor Kurganov in the small blind. He put out all of his green T25,000 chips for a reraise to 310,000. Robl moved all in, and Kurganov called.

Kurganov was at risk for 431,000 with the {A-Clubs}{J-Spades}. Robl held the {K-Clubs}{K-Hearts} and pleaded, "No ace, no ace."

The dealer flopped the {K-Spades}{10-Spades}{5-Hearts} and there was no ace, but Kurganov did pick up a straight draw.

The turn delivered that Broadway straight when the {Q-Spades} fell, and the river failed to pair the board with the {9-Diamonds}.

Kurganov won the pot with a big double to the chip lead, while Robl was left with just 45,000 in chips — 20,000 of which was to be in the big blind on the next hand.
