Joel Douaglin Eliminated in 3rd Place (AU$630,000)

Level 32 : 80,000/160,000, 20,000 ante
Joel Douaglin - 3rd Place
Joel Douaglin - 3rd Place

The lively ride of Joel Douaglin has come to an end in third place after he fell to Lennart Uphoff.

The man from New Caledonia raised to 560,000 from the small blind and Uphoff called from the big blind before a {7-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{8-Diamonds} flop was dealt. Douaglin was first to act and he moved all in for 2,105,000!

It was a big bet and had Uphoff thinking for a couple of minutes. He called though and the cards were flipped up.

Douaglin: {8-Hearts}{2-Diamonds} for second pair.
Uphoff: {k-Spades}{10-Spades} for top pair.

The board ran out {k-Clubs}{a-Hearts} to improve the young German's hand to two pair.

The players are taking a ten-minute break before heads up play will commence.

Walking Sticks for Stavropoulos

Level 32 : 80,000/160,000, 20,000 ante

Manny Stavropoulos opened for 350,000 from the button and Lennart Uphoff called from the big blind to see a flop of {j-Hearts}{k-Spades}{7-Clubs}. Uphoff ended up check-calling a bet of 450,000, and then check-called a big one of 725,000 on the {6-Spades} turn.

When the {6-Spades} completed the board on the river, Uphoff checked for a third time and Stavropoulos thought for well over a minute before checking back with the {7-Spades}{7-Hearts}. His set of sevens was good as Uphoff mucked his cards.

James Rann Eliminated in 4th Place (AU$430,000)

Level 32 : 80,000/160,000, 20,000 ante
James Rann - 4th Place
James Rann - 4th Place

James Rann open-shoved for approximately 2.2 million from the button and action folded to chip leader Lennart Uphoff in the big blind. He looked at his cards and then spiked in some chips to signify a call.

Rann: {2-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}
Uphoff: {j-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}

Rann's pocket pair was dominated, and the {q-Clubs}{q-Spades}{a-Clubs} flop didn't do him any favors. The {6-Hearts} turn meant Rann needed a deuce on the river, and in a desperate attempt for luck shouted, "One time."

It wasn't in the cards though as the {6-Diamonds} blanked on the river. Rann, the start-of-the-day chip leader, missed and had to settle for fourth place and AU$430,000.

All Pre Flop

Level 32 : 80,000/160,000, 20,000 ante

The players haven't played a single hand to a flop as yet. Every single hand has been won by a single raise, rereaise or an all in.

Something will have to give soon.

Little Action

Level 32 : 80,000/160,000, 20,000 ante

Since returning from the dinner break there haven't been any huge hands.

In one, Lennart Uphoff received a walk in the big blind. It was probably a wise decision by the other players as the German showed {a-}{q-}.

In the next, Joel Douaglin raised to 650,000 from the button and took down the blinds.
