Laak Takes Chance
Phil Laak’s stack has not been heading in the right direction so far but he has just taken down a pot against Chance Kornuth to turn things around.
We caught the action in a three-way hand on an flop with Kornuth, who is sitting in the cutoff, opening for 350 into a pot of 650 when both big blind Laak and a player sitting under the gun check.
Both Kornuth’s opponents made the call with all three checking the turn. The river brought a 1,375 bet from Laak, which was enough to get the under the gun player to bow out. Kornuth however, looked interested.
“Give me a hint.” Banters Kornuth, but Laak, wearing a cap and sunglasses, gave nothing away.
Kornuth did eventually make the call only to pitch his cards into the muck when Laak rolled over to climb back up to 22,200 while Kornuth dropped to 15,750.
