The eventful Australian Poker Open continues shortly, as players return for Day 1b of the $1,500 Platinum Player Championships. An impressive field of 148 entries took their seats yesterday, all looking to collect chips and make it into the money of this AUD $500,000 guaranteed event.

Play gets underway at 3 p.m. local time at Doltone House Western Sydney at Club Marconi, where the main ballroom is all dressed up and ready for action.

A total of 19 players survived Day 1am, with Minkyu Jun leading the way after bagging 1,521,000 chips. That sets a big benchmark for players in this unlimited reentry event, as players have four more opening flights to chase down the chip leader.

Day 1b gets underway at 3 p.m. local time, following the same format as action in yesterday’s flight. Players will begin with 50,000 chips and late registration closes at the end of Level 9.

Levels continue at 40 minutes in length on Day 1, and blinds begin at 100/200 with a 200 big blind ante. Players will be sent on scheduled breaks after every three levels of play.
