Wang Pays off Calderaro
Action folded around to Michael Wang in the small blind and he completed. James Calderaro raised his option to 5,000 and Wang thought for about 20 seconds with Calderaro talking up his ear the entire time before he called. The flop came and both players quickly checked.
The turn was and Wang checked again. Calderaro bet 5,000 and Wang thought for a couple of moments before calling. Calderaro continued to chat, asking Wang what he could have that he called with. Wang checked once more on the river and Calderaro counted out 11 1K-chips and slid them forward onto the table.
"That six didn't help you," said Calderaro. Wang went into the tank, checking his cards after close to a minute. "Check your cards again. You might make a bad decision," Calderaro added. Mid-sentence, Wang reached for chips and dropped them onto the felt to call at the same time Calderaro finished his sentence.
Calderaro wasted no time showing for a set of nines, prompting Wang to shake his head slightly and recognize a nice hand to Calderaro, who earned the pot to take him over 60,000.
