In the latest edition of the PokerNews Podcast, Chad Holloway and Jesse Fullen chat about their experience playing the Charity Series of Poker (CSOP) Curl Vegas one of them won it as well as updates concerning Twitch banning unlicensed gambling sites and a definitive ruling on the Wire Act and whether or not it applies to online poker. They also highlight a hand from The Lodge Stream where a player mucked the nuts on the river, celebrate what would have been Mike Sexton's 75th birthday, and remember Jan Suchanek and Ivan Leow, who both passed away unexpectedly.
Chad then sits down with BetMGM Poker Ambassador Darren Elias, the "End Boss" and World Poker Tour (WPT) G.O.A.T., to discuss the BetMGM Poker Online Championships taking place in Michigan, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey.
Action was hot Saturday night with two BetMGM Online Championships events running across the BetMGM platform in three states Michigan, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania. There were two separate games played Event #11: $250 No-Limit Hold'em and Event #12: $1,000 Pot-Limit Omaha High Roller.
We'll start with Michigan's results, first off the $250 NLH tournament, which had an impressive 101 entrants in the $20,000 guaranteed tournament. That guarantee was easily smashed with $23,482 in the pot. When play concluded, the only one left with chips was "All4one1forALL" taking it down for $6,927, beating out "Chizzychiz," who earned $4,085, heads-up for the title.
In the $1,000 PLO High Roller, the champion was "imakewinhappen," which paid $15,600. There were 41 entrants in the $40,000 guaranteed event, with "coNNB," who has had a solid series thus far, finished on the bubble. The runner-up was "Mkash03," who was paid $9,400.
Moving out east to New Jersey, where 110 players took part in the $250 NLH tournament on BetMGM Friday night. That created a prize pool of $25,575, slightly surpassing the $25,000 guarantee. The winner was"jacksupMM" for $7,544. In second place, after losing a heads-up battle, "Stoniepokes" took home $4,450.
The second event in the Garden State was the $1,000 PLO High Roller, which attracted 43 players and had a $50,000 guarantee. "Believer111" came out victorious for a nice cool $19,500 payday. Finishing one spot shy of the title was "MyCousinVinny5," good for $11,750, while "SaraukV" was the unfortunate bubble.
Finally, we cross the border to the BetMGM poker site in the fabulous state of Pennsylvania where "ShipHappens" won the 74-entrant $250 NLH tournament for $5,648, which featured a $15,000 guarantee ($17,205 in the pot). Coming in second place was "CleggsOnGG," one of the top performers during the BetMGM Online Championships in any state. The runner-up finish paid out $3,182.
The $1,000 PLO High Roller in PA had 33 entrants with $25,000 guaranteed ($31,350 in the pot). After all was said and done late Friday night, "moontime" was the champion for $12,853. Just one spot below the winner was "luckybluffer777," was earned $8,151 as a consolation prize.
There are two remaining tournaments in each of the three states, all taking place on Sunday, and then it will be a wrap on the exciting BetMGM Online Championships series.

Earlier this month, BetMGM premiered its new commercial campaign today on a variety of social media platforms. ITS ON features a star-studded cast of actors and athletes, all BetMGM ambassadors, within an episodic series. The campaign made its national television debut Thursday, Sept. 8 during Thursday Night Football.
In the initial spot, Jamie Foxx personifies the larger-than-life entertainment brand of BetMGM as he roams his Bellagio suite seeking sports betting tips from Kevin Garnett, Wayne Gretzky, Jalen Rose, Barry Sanders and BetMGMs newest brand ambassador, Vanessa Hudgens. ITS ON was created by 72andSunny New York and directed by Peter Berg, Executive Producer of Entourage and Ballers.
Entertainment is at the core of BetMGM and we want this campaign to keep viewers on the edge of their seats in a way thats unexpected from the sports betting and gaming industry, said Raymond Doyle, VP of Brand, BetMGM.
New ads from ITS ON will be released in the coming months, bringing viewers into the epic worlds of BetMGMs all-star list of brand ambassadors. Fans will find Barry Sanders on a palatial Malibu estate playing pickleball; another spot takes viewers on the TV set with basketball star Jalen Rose and his barber; and the series also will give hockey fans the opportunity to watch NHL legend Wayne Gretzky join Connor McDavids on-ice practice session. Each spot raises the stakes between competitive friends tapping into the social nature of BetMGM, blending the experiences of sports betting and entertainment.
Peter Hughes, Creative Director from 72andSunny, said, We really wanted to show what makes sports betting so entertaining, and we looked to prestige ensemble TV for inspiration. ITS ON is about tapping into your competitive side and being part of sports betting culture. Its something you can talk about with friends and engage with in a more meaningful way.
BetMGMs ITS ON campaign will appear across broadcast, OOH, digital and social channels. Additionally, the roster of talent will use their personal social channels to promote the films incorporating their unique voices into the sports betting conversation in real time. New spots will continue to be released throughout the year to coincide with season-openers and playoffs for the NBA and NHL, as well as NCAA tournaments.
