We heard a loud shout a few tables over and headed over to take a look, and as is usually the case after such an outburst, a bad beat had just gone down.
A player who gave his name - but politely asked to remain anonymous due to his status as an active serviceman in the military (don't ask, don't tell lives on) - had just spiked his double gutter draw on the river. Here's what we saw:
The final board read and the unknown soldier had tabled near his soon to be doubled stack. His opponent held only for no pair, but until the river rained down he had been in the lead with ace-high. Fifth street dashed his hopes though, while the anonymous player now sits with about 45,000 to work with.
