Event 10: St. Patrick's Day
We heard a player throw the needle Patrick Truong's way with the board reading by the turn, and turned to take a closer look.
"Deuce..." the man called, even though he wasn't involved in the hand. "Deuce!"
Truong was all in for his last 73,500 and the lay in front of his stack, good for a set of nines. A third man - the one who was actually playing the pot - remained conspicuously silent, but it was he who needed the deuce to be delivered if he hoped to win the pot. His had been outraced by Truong's flopped set, and he was on the verge of shipping 15 big blinds across the table.
River:
The wheel would not be reinvented today, and with no deuce dropped on the river, Truong's set held up for the double.
"Just gets here, sat on my left, and he starts calling for cards against me?," he asked with a smile. "What did I do to you?"
