BFPO Championship Day 2 Chipleader David Jackson
BFPO Championship Day 2 Chipleader David Jackson

The Borgata Fall Poker Open has now seen the second day of Event #17: $2,700 Championship come to an end after another exciting eight levels of play and when the last chance saloon had closed for business it was Borgata regular David Jackson leading the final 60 into Day 3.

Jackson advanced from the first flight with an above-average sized stack that he leveraged into a lead by nights end, but it was not an easy journey as he had a few hiccups en route to the end of day lead. He amassed a top-stack early on Day 2 and he rode that momentum until the last level of the night before finding any real trouble.

Angel Lopez doubled through Jackson, taking over half of his stack in the process of doing so. Jackson had the last laugh between the two though when he found pocket aces versus the queens of Lopez during the second last hand of the night. The aces held on for a complete double and Jackson once again was on top of the field, ending the day with a chip lead stack of 744,000.

Other notable stacks nearing that mark include Sean Thomson (709,000), Dien Le (692,000), Joseph Gambino (654,000), and Jon Borenstein all round out the top five moving onto Day 3.

Familiar faces to emerge from Day 2 with a stack are Carlos Guerrero (583,000), Michael Vela (579,000), Denise Pratt (573,000), Nick Palma (539,000), Matthew Holmquist (505,000), Joseph Reddick (497,000), Faisal Siddiqui (455,000), Paul Volpe (323,000), and Roland Israelashvili (256,000).

The 511 enties that showed up accumulated a total prize pool of $1,239,175 with the top 54 pulling in a min-cash worth $4,957 and the eventual winner will be taking home $308,556 for their efforts, along with a prestigious Borgata Trophy.

The remaining 60 players will be returning tomorrow November 20, at noon to battle it out until the official final table of six. At that point they will bring back the final six for the final day of the event, where a winner will be crowned, taking home the title along with all that cold hard cash.

The PokerNews live reporting team will be bringing all of the updates as the action unfolds so stay tuned.
