Event #5 High: $15,000 GTD NLH Black Chip Bounty

Day 1 Completed

"buckets44" Wins Borgata Spring Poker Open Online Series Event #5 HIGH: $15,000 GTD NLH Black Chip Bounty For $8,107

The 2020 Borgata Spring Poker Open Online Series saw its first high-stakes no-limit hold'em champion crowned in the $330 buy-in Event #5: $15,000 GTD NLH Black Chip Bounty Rebuy, where "buckets44" topped a field of 142 entries to take home the first-place prize of $8,107.

The fifth event saw only 23 players start off the tournament but the numbers continued to pile in with 142 entries being tallied by the end of registration, though only 25 players remained at the start of Level 19.

From there, it took less than 20-minutes for the tournament to reach the money as the top 15 got paid and within a blink of an eye, the final table was reached.

Final Table Action

"MarsRover" was the first to drop after their pocket tens couldn't win the race against "jeebs" suited ace-queen.

The next person to drop was "odo23" in level 27, followed by "GiantGenius" in level 28.

The next level saw three players drop from the virtual felt after "UFOLDIWIN" fell in sixth place, "SugarJ" in fifth, and one time chip leader "jeebs" go out in fourth place.

Level 30 saw the last two virtual bodies drop in short succession after "tc_ownz" fell in third place ($3,784), followed by "simlSgg" in second ($5,341).

"simlSgg" Eliminated In 2nd Place ($5,341)

The very first hand back from break in level 30 with blinds at 30,000/60,000 saw "simlSgg" open with a raise and "buckets44" three-bet. "simlSgg" then moved all in and was quickly called by "buckets44".

"simlSgg": {a-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}
"buckets44": {a-Clubs}{a-Hearts}

"buckets44" woke up with the best hand in the best possible spot as "simlSgg" couldn't get lucky with the {7-Clubs}{5-Spades}{2-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} runout ending their tournament in second place.

"tc_ownz" Eliminated In 3rd Place ($3,784)

In level 30 with blinds at 30,000/60,000, "buckets44" open-jammed from the small blind and "tc_ownz" called for less from the big blind.

"tc_ownz": {a-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}
"buckets44": {q-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}

"tc_ownz" was behind and didn't receive any help from the {8-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{5-Hearts} flop.

The {7-Spades} turn added gutshot outs to "tc_ownz" as they now needed any ace or six to win the hand.

Unfortunately, the river fell the {3-Hearts} ending "tc_ownz" tournament in third place.

"jeebs" Eliminated in 4th Place ($2,649)

In level 29 (25,000/50,000), "jeebs" open-jammed for 855,718 from the small blind and was called by "buckets44" from the big blind.

"jeebs" : {j-Clubs}{j-Hearts}
"buckets44": {k-Spades}{j-Spades}

"jeebs" was ahead but the {q-Spades}{q-Clubs}{10-Clubs} flop added open-ended straight outs to "buckets44" hand.

The {6-Spades} on the turn didn't change a thing but the {9-Clubs} river completed "buckets44" straight and eliminated "jeebs" from the tournament.

"UFOLDIWIN" Eliminated in 6th Place ($1,601)

In level 29 with blinds at 25,000/50,000, "UFOLDIWIN" moved all in on the button and "buckets44" called for less from the small blind.

"buckets44": {3-Spades}{3-Clubs}
"UFOLDIWIN": {q-Hearts}{10-Clubs}

"buckets44" was ahead and improved after the {k-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{4-Clubs} flop.

The {7-Hearts} turn left "UFOLDIWIN" drawing dead and was eliminated after the {9-Clubs} completed the board on the river.

"tc_ownz" Doubles Through "simlSgg"

In level 29 with blinds at 25,000/50,000, "buckets44" opened for 100,000 from middle position and ,"tc_ownz" three-bet jammed for 741,496. Action was on "simlSgg" who four-bet over the top from the big blind getting isolation.

"tc_ownz": {a-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}
"simlSgg": {10-Clubs}{10-Spades}

"simlSgg" was ahead until the {a-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{5-Diamonds} flop fell pairing "tc_ownz" ace.

The {9-Hearts} turn didn't change a thing nor the {j-Spades} river giving "tc_ownz" the double-up.

"GiantGenius" Eliminated in 7th Place ($1,237.17)

In level 28 with blinds at 20,000/40,000, "GiantGenius" open-jammed for 460,798 from middle position and was called by "simlSgg" from the small blind.

"GiantGenius" : {a-Spades}{9-Clubs}
"simlSgg" : {q-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}

"GiantGenius" needed some help but the {q-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds} flop wasn't it as it gave "simlSgg" a set of ladies.

The {5-Clubs} turn sealed "GiantGenius" fate as the meaningless {8-Hearts} fell on the river.
