Emanuele "Manny" Gugliuzza Bags Day 1a Chip Lead in Deepstack Kick-Off
Day 1a of Event #1: $600 Deepstack Kick-Off at the Borgata Winter Poker Open has come to an end after 15 exciting levels of play and it is Emanuele "Manny" Gugliuzza leading the 65 survivors out of 405 entries. With the $2,000,000 guaranteed prize pool, it is expected that the fun has only just started as there are four more starting days coming up over the next two days at the Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa.
Gugliuzza shot to the top of the leaderboard early in the day when he sent two players out with his pocket nines that turned into a set. He continued his dominance throughout the rest of the day, finishing on top of the field with a stack of 419,000. Finishing right behind him in this flight is Michael Cohen with his 414,000 stack.
Other notable stacks to end the day include Reggie Jones (326,000), Charlie Marchese (269,000), Mike Volpe (263,000), and Borgata regular Michael Marder (246,000).
