. There was a pot of around 25,000 in it. Alex Torres was on the button and he casually tossed a 5,000 chip forward for a bet.
Conrad Simpson was in the big blind and thought it over for a while. "This is the weirdest hand," he said as he thought. Eventually, he said "alright I think you have it in you" and called.
Torres tabled the 
for a pair of eights. Simpson gave a wry smile and small chuckle as he checked his cards and winced to indicate that he was pipped by the eights and he mucked his cards.
"Nice value bet" said a tablemate with an unclear amount of sincerity as Torres gathered in the pot.
