Wilkie Doubles with a Full House

Level 7 : 400/800, 800 ante
Steve Wilkie
Steve Wilkie

Vincent Griboski opened the action with a raise to 2,600 in early position and Steve Le Peau three-bet to 6,000 in the hijack. Steve Wilkie cold-called in the cutoff and Griboski came along as well.

The three saw the flop come {j-Clubs}{8-Spades}{9-Hearts} and Griboski checked to Le Peau, who went all in for about 28,000. Wilkie called all in for less and Griboski folded.

Steve Wilkie: {9-Spades}{9-Clubs}
Steve Le Peau: {10-Spades}{10-Clubs}

Wilkie's set of jacks was ahead of Le Peau's pair of tens and open-ended straight draw, the latter of which became moot as the turn {j-Diamonds} gave Wilkie a full house. Le Peau was then left with one shot at hitting a jack or a ten for the knockout, and neither came on the river {8-Hearts} to earn Wilkie the double and a bit more.

Roman Mai raised to 1,200 in the hijack and received calls from both Aaron Frei in the cutoff and Rich Dixon in the small blind. Matt Livingston then three-bet to 3,500 in the big blind and both Mai and Frei called, with Dixon folding to take three-way action to the streets.

Livingston fired a continuation-bet of 5,000 on the flop {9-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{q-Hearts} and Mai folded. Frei then called and the turn came {5-Clubs}, with Livingston sliding out more than Frei's remaining 27,200 to put him to a decision for his remaining chips.

About 20 seconds went by and Frei folded, earning Livingston the pot.

Wilkie Doubles Through Jesse

Level 6 : 300/600, 600 ante
Steve Wilkie
Steve Wilkie

Jay Jesse raised to 1,600 in early position and Steve Wilkie re-jammed on the button for 12,300. Jesse called once it became his turn to do so.

Steve Wilkie: {a-Hearts}{q-Hearts}
Jay Jesse: {a-Diamonds}{j-Spades}

Wilkie's ace had Jesse's dominated but he picked up a sweat to a chop as the flop came {10-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{10-Spades}. However, a running {5-Hearts}{k-Spades} fell cleanly behind to leave Wilkie's queen kicker to make the difference and score him the easy double.

More Action from Table 8

Level 6 : 300/600, 600 ante
Al Hart
Al Hart

Hand #1: Al Hart raised to 3,000 in middle position over an early-position limp from Eddy Konarske and as called by Zachary Reinbold in the cutoff, Michael Giardina on the button and Josh Saltz in the big blind. Konarske also called, taking five to a flop of {6-Spades}{6-Hearts}{5-Spades}.

Action checked to Reinbold and he bet 5,200, receiving calls from Giardina and Hart.

"That's not what I expected," said Reinbold after two players called, and all three remaining players checked through the turn {k-Clubs} and river {5-Hearts} to take the hand to showdown.

Hart tabled {a-Diamonds}{a-Hearts} and his aces wound up best, earning him the pot.

Hand #2: On the next hand, Ben Keeline open-jammed for 5,900 on the button and Josh Saltz re-jammed for around 18,000 in the small blind, getting no action behind.

Ben Keeline: {j-Clubs}{9-Hearts}
Josh Saltz: {a-Spades}{j-Spades}

"It's okay," said Keeline. "There are a lot of nines in the deck," he added. He would need none, instead flopping a straight on {7-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{10-Spades} and fading the backdoor Broadway draw that Saltz picked up while {k-Spades}{a-Clubs} finished the runout.

"Well, that wasn't fair. But I enjoyed it," said Keeline with a laugh as his stack was matched by Saltz and the pot was shipped his way.

Reinbold Active Early; Teel Ousted by Fuller

Level 6 : 300/600, 600 ante
Zachary Reinbold
Zachary Reinbold

Hand #1: Al Hart opened to 1,200 in the hijack and received a call from Salim Wahdan in the cutoff. Zachary Reinbold three-bet to 4,200 on the button and was called by only Wahdan.

Action went heads up to a flop of {6-Spades}{j-Hearts}{2-Clubs} and Wahdan checked to Reinbold, who made a continuation-bet of 3,000. Wahdan called and the turn came {k-Spades}. Wahdan checked again and Reinbold fired a second barrel of 7,500, which got a quick fold from Wahdan to earn him the pot.

Hand #2: On the very next hand, Eddy Konarske raised to 1,600 in early position and Reinbold three-bet to 4,200 in the cutoff. Michael Giardina cold-called on the button and Konarske called as well, taking three-way action to a flop of {7-Spades}{3-Spades}{2-Hearts}. Konarske checked and Reinbold continuation-bet 4,200.

Giardina quickly slid in a raise to 15,000 and both players wasted no time folding, earning him the pot.

Meanwhile, Jay Teel was just eliminated from an adjacent table after getting his stack of around 12,000 into the middle preflop with two eights against the pocket tens of Thomas Fuller. Kane Lai has taken Teel's seat, leaving 24 players still in play with 29 entries now having been recorded.
