Sprague Flops a Flush To Double

Level 11 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante
Todd Sprague
Todd Sprague

Steve Wilkie limped under the gun and Al Hart limped behind in the hijack. Two folds then ensued before Todd Sprague completed his small blind and Michael Giardina checked his option in the big blind, taking action four ways to a flop of {a-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{7-Hearts}.

Sprague led out for 15,000 and both Giardina and Wilkie folded. Hart then announced he was all in with Sprague quickly calling and Hart exclaiming that he hoped Sprague didn't have two hearts. Unfortunately for him, Sprague indeed had two hearts.

Todd Sprague: {10-Hearts}{2-Hearts}
Al Hart: {a-Diamonds}{7-Spades}

"I'm going to need an ace or a seven," said Hart as he turned over his hand after seeing Sprague's flopped flush. Neither came as the turn {10-Clubs} and river {4-Clubs} completed the runout and Sprague scored the dub as a result.

"That's It"

Level 11 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Al Hart raised it up to 10,000 on the button over a cutoff-limp from Steve Wilkie. Eddy Konarske called in the small blind and Wilkie called as well, taking postflop action three ways to the street.

The flop came {3-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{k-Hearts} and action checked to Hart, who made a continuation-bet that Konarske check-raised to 25,000. Wilkie folded and Hart called.

Konarske fired another 20,000 on the turn {6-Clubs} and the river came {7-Diamonds}, where he bet another 45,000. Hart thought for a bit and then called, taking the hand to showdown.

Konarske showed {a-Spades}{k-Clubs} for kings and sixes with an ace kicker.

"That's it," stated Hart in affirmation of the hand. He then mucked and the pot was shipped to Konarske, who now finds himself over 300K with 12 players remaining.

Palumbo Wins a Coin Flip; Wilkie Gets Another Knockout

Level 11 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante
Rocco Palumbo
Rocco Palumbo

Rocco Palumbo open-jammed for 26,500 in the hijack and received action from Bobby Sanoubane in the small blind.

Rocco Palumbo: {9-Spades}{9-Hearts}
Bobby Sanoubane: {a-Clubs}{k-Clubs}

A queen-high runout of {6-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{q-Spades}{10-Hearts}{4-Clubs} gave Sanoubane four more outs after the turn, only to leave Palumbo's nines best and score him the double.

As the hand unfolded, John Beauprez was eliminated at the adjacent table by Steve Wilkie, who has collected his third knockout since returning from the dinner break. According to Wilkie, the two were involved in a blind-on-blind limped pot that checked through a flop of {a-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{x-Diamonds}. Wilkie bet 7,000 on {4-Hearts} and Beauprez called, and then Wilkie put Beauprez in on the river {7-Clubs}. Beauprez called once more.

Steve Wilkie: {a-}{4-}
John Beauprez: {9-}{3-}

Wilkie's aces up topped Beauprez's pair of nines and eliminated him to bring the field down to 12.

Saltz Falls; Thirteen Remain

Level 10 : 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante
Josh Saltz
Josh Saltz

"I quit," said Josh Saltz in a lighthearted manner after being eliminated from the tournament. "I even flopped my card, too, and it didn't matter - ace-king to pocket nines; flop {k-}{9-}{x-}."

Sherman Wu happened to be the one that did the deed, and he now finds himself with just shy of 200K with 13 players remaining and a couple of seconds remaining in Level 10.

Giardina Doubles; Dixon Busts

Level 10 : 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante
Rich Dixon
Rich Dixon

Al Hart raised to 4,000 under the gun and saw Michael Giardina re-jam on the button. Action folded back to Hart.

"Can I get a count, please?" asked Hart.

"Of course you can!" replied the dealer, cutting out Giardina's stack and announcing it to be 35,500. Hart immediately called, dropping a stack of chips onto the felt as he did so.

Michael Giardina: {q-Hearts}{10-Hearts}
Al Hart: {a-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}

Both players found plenty to sweat on the flop {7-Hearts}{a-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}, with Hart flopping top pair and Giardina flopping a flush draw. Giardina paired his queen on {q-Diamonds}, also giving Hart the nut flush draw alongside it. The river then fell {q-Clubs}, giving Giardina trips and scoring him the double.

Moments earlier, Rich Dixon was eliminated from the tournament after jamming with {a-Clubs}{j-} over a limp from Steve Wilkie, who called with {6-}{6-}.

Wilkie once again hit a set on the flop {q-Clubs}{j-Clubs}{6-Clubs} but Dixon was still plenty alive with the nut flush draw. He then picked up a backdoor gutshot to Broadway on the turn {10-}, but a blank river left him high and dry and he fell to Wilkie as a result.

Matt Livingston
Matt Livingston

August 2019 CPC High Roller Champion Matt Livingston was just eliminated from the tournament by Steve Wilkie, who confirmed the details as to how the hand went down.

According to Wilkie, Livingston opened to 3,500 in middle position and Wilkie called in the hijack. Rich Dixon also called in the small blind and the three saw a flop of {8-}{3-Spades}{2-Spades}. Dixon checked and Livingston continuation-bet 7,000. Wilkie then raised to 21,000 and Dixon folded, prompting Livingston to come over the top for his stack of around 60,000. Wilkie called.

Matt Livingston: {10-}{10-}
Steve Wilkie: {8-}{8-}

Running aces completed the runout and Wilkie scored the pot and the knockout with his full house, climbing near 200K and eliminating Livingston in the process.

Fuller Gets Three Streets

Level 10 : 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante
Thomas Fuller
Thomas Fuller

Thomas Fuller raised to 3,500 in middle position and action folded around to Jason Welch, who defended his big blind. The flop dropped {4-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{4-Clubs} and Welch checked to Fuller, who made a continuation-bet of 3,000. Welch called.

The turn came {2-Diamonds} and Welch checked again. Fuller thought for about 20 seconds and then fired a second barrel of 13,000. Welch confirmed the amount and then made the call.

The river fell {10-Hearts} and Welch checked a third time. Fuller bet 8,500 and Welch called once more to take the hand to showdown.

Fuller showed {k-Hearts}{4-Hearts} for flopped trips, resulting in Welch letting out a sigh before mucking his hand and wishing Fuller a nice hand.
