Welcome to PokerNews coverage of Day 1b of the Bally's Black Hawk 2021 Colorado Poker Championship (CPC) $1,450 Main Event, set to begin Friday at noon local time.

Players will be making their way up the mountain for the second starting flight of three for the event, one that drew 70 entries on Thursday's Day 1a. In that flight, a pair of players in Rocco Palumbo (554,500) and Steve Wilkie (506,000) lapped the rest of the field from the eight that advanced when 12% remained just seven minutes prior to the scheduled end to the day.

Starting stacks are once again 30,000 apiece with blinds of 100/100/100 to start the day. Day 1 levels last 40 minutes before increasing to one hour in length for Days 2 and 3, and 10-minute breaks will take place at the completion of every three levels (two hours) of play. There will also be a 40-minute dinner break at the end of Level 9 (600/1,200/1,200) with late registration closing at its completion once Level 10 (1,000/1,500/1,500) begins.

Unlimited re-entries are available throughout the entire tournament, provided registration is open. However, the event is not a best-stack-forward event, meaning all players to advance must forfeit their stacks should they wish to come back and fire again on Saturday's final flight. Lastly, Day 1a's seven-minute-early stopping point will now become the end of Day 1b unless the field falls to 12% even earlier.

Chips are sure to fly from start to finish, so keep it here at PokerNews for frequent updates on the action all day long.
