In a preflop confrontation Xoan Mourino was all in from the cutoff for roughly 85,000 and up against Nacho Cuesta in the big blind who had a covering stack.
Xoan Mourino: J?J?
Nacho Cuesta: K?K?
Mourino was in bad shape against the bigger pocket pair and couldn't catch up on the 10?Q?3?K?10? runout. Cuesta scooped in a sizable pot while Mourino made his exit from the tournament area.

Hatim Saber, who had been left with just 3,000 chips a few hands earlier before doubling up, moved all in again for 8,000 from under the gun. A player in the cutoff called and Fernando Santa Maria called in the small blind.
The flop came A?Q?6?. Santa Maria checked, the cutoff bet 10,000 and Santa Maria folded leaving Saber at risk against the cutoff.
Hatim Saber: Q?J?
Cutoff: A?9?
Things looked grim for Saber, who held second-pair and was up against top pair. That all changed when he improved to two pair on the J? turn and held from there on the 2? river to score a full quadruple up.

Ahmed Abdella opened to 8,000 from under the gun and Fernando Santa Maria three-bet to 23,000 from the button. Hatim Saber moved all in for 32,000 from the big blind and Abdella reshoved with a covering stack, forcing Santa Maria out of the pot to leave Saber at risk for the third consecutive hand.
Hatim Saber: 8?8?
Ahmed Abdella: K?K?
Saber could not catch an eight on the 2?J?4?7?9? runout and was sent to the rail despite a valiant effort to spin up his short stack while Abdella collected the last of his chips.

Manuel Ledesma opened to 13,000 from the hijack and a player in the cutoff moved all in for 91,000. Ledesma made the call to put his opponent at risk.
Cutoff: A?K?
Manuel Ledesma: 10?10?
It was a standard preflop flip until the 10?10?J? flop gave Ledesma four of a kind, leaving his opponent drawing dead. The 3? turn and J? river c hanged nothing and Ledesma collected a nice pot while sending his opponent to the rail three spots shy of making the money.

In a preflop confrontation, a player from early position was all in for roughly 80,000, a player from middle position was all in for slightly less and Ionut Dragomir in the small blind had made the call with a covering stack to put both players at risk.
Middle Position: J?J?
Early Position: A?Q?
Ionut Dragomir: K?K?
Dragomir was in excellent shape to score the double knockout and remained ahead on the Q?7?4? flop. The A? turn gave the early position player the lead but in a dramatic turn of events the river was the K?, giving Dragomir the final pot of the night while both opponents were sent to the rail on the stone bubble.

The curtain has fallen on the penultimate flight of the EAPT Madrid €560 Main Event here at Casino Gran Via. Day 1d was the largest starting flight so far, attracting a total of 101 entrants. Of those 101 entrants, only 15 players remain after nearly 14 levels of play.
Spain's Fernando Celdran ended the night with the biggest stack, bagging 578,000 chips. Celdran currently holds the second-largest stack overall from the first four starting flights, surpassed only by Day 1b chip leader Dario Bagattini who bagged 649,000. Celdran is most closely followed by Romania's Ionut Dragomir (505,000) and Germany's Samuel Tebege (407,000).

Samuel Tebege, who earlier in this festival placed fourth in the €250 EAPT cup for €3,975, got off to a good start and seemed to be in cruise control for most of the day. He was rarely, if ever, below an average stack and finished the night as the third-largest stack in the room.
Ionut Dragomir was under the radar for most of the day before rapidly accumulating chips in the later levels. He would win the final hand of the night in a dramatic runout that saw the lead change multiple times before Dragomir rivered a set of kings to knock out two players on the money bubble and finish the night with the second-largest stack in the room.
Celdran emerged as one of the largest stacks in the room after scoring a double knockout of his own midway through the day and never looked back from that point. Celdran would leverage his stack to pressure his opponents and win a number of pots without showdown until bagging the chip lead at the end of the night.
Other notables who bagged and tagged include Manuel Ledesma (337,000) and Fernando Santa Maria (237,000). Both players have enjoyed recent success in Spain at the poker tables. Just over two weeks ago Ledesma won the 888poker LIVE Madrid Main Event for €58,000 while Santa Maria won the EAPT Barcelona Main Event this past October for €26,625.
The final turbo Day 1e starting flight is currently underway, after which the survivors from all five starting flights will combine for Day 2 tomorrow, February 18 at which point all surviving players will be in the money.
As always, stay tuned to PokerNews as we bring you all the exciting action as this event plays down to an eventual winner on the final day taking place February 19.
