Day 1c of the first-ever Eurasian Poker Tour UK Main Event has concluded with a new overall chip leader Foad Sattarzadeh.

Sattarzadeh steamrollered over his opponents to amass a massive stack of 3,340,000 to overtake Day 1a chip leader Jonathan Hanley on top of the chip standings at Dusk Till Dawn Poker Club in Nottingham.

In second place is Yorkshireman David Ledden, who gathered 2,320,000 throughout the day and is in a prime position to make a deep run in the tournament.

Rounding off the top three is the infamous Will Kassouf, who bagged 2,145,000 despite entering the fray at the very last moment before registration closed at the start of level seven.

Day 1c Highlights

The star of the show at the start of the day was Albert Sapiano. The veteran player who made his money in honey played with his usual reckless abandon and terrorized his fellow players.

After busting Andrew Lewis in the first level in the day, Sapiano put Paul Haycock to the ultimate test by moving all in for 191,000 on an ace-high board, with only 50,000 in the pot. Haycock used a time bank card before folding pocket kings face up.

Sapiano caused further carnage before running out of chips during level four and was seen to fire another bullet in the Day 1d flight.

The volume in the room increased when Will Kassouf sat down and managed to increase his stack sixfold in the space of an hour.
Kassouf who still haunts Stacy Matusons dreams, applied his table talk which backfired in a big hand against Steven Frew.

On an all-diamond flop Kassouf claimed to have the coconuts with a big raise on a brick turn. Frew called and the ace of diamonds landed on the river to debunk Kassoufs proclamation. Despite this Kassouf continued the story with a big bet, but Frew called with the second nuts to take down the pot.

But the man of the hour was Sattarzadeh who gained the majority of his stack in a huge pot against Paul Leckey. Leckey shoved with the nut flush draw on the turn for 635,000 chips and Satarzadeh made the call with top pair. Leckey couldnt connect and Satarzadeh dragged in a near 2,000,000 pot.

The 45 players who advanced from Day 1c will reconvene at 3 p.m. local time on May 26. Stick with PokerNews for all of the latest developments from the EAPT UK Main Event.

Lars Torngren bet 65,000 from the cutoff and was met with a shove from Mohamed Dagia in the small blind for 280,000. Torngren made the call and a flock of spectators surrounded the table.

Mohamed Dagia: K?K?
Lars Torngren: A?A?

A huge cooler on the bubble as Dagia ran into Torngren's blades. The runout of J?8?7?6?5? proved no help for Dagia who was the last to exit Day 1c without a guaranteed payout.

Despite only sitting down with his second starting stack at the end of late registration, Will Kassouf has been on a tear in the last hour.

The loud-mouth lawyer has managed to increase his stack sixfold to 1,252,000, which puts him among the top echelon in the chip standings.

Currently, 110 players are remaining, which means only another 65 eliminations are required before the player's bag and tag for the evening.
