Rheem on a Roll

Level 21 : 15,000/30,000, 5,000 ante

Chino Rheem raised from middle position to 80,000 and Hasan Habib called from the big blind position.

Habib checked in the dark and the flop was {k-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}. Rheem continued for 100,000 before Habib raised the action to 250,000. Rheem thought a bit and announced he was all in. That drew a quick fold from Habib and Rheem won another pot.

Chino Gets Some Back

Level 21 : 15,000/30,000, 5,000 ante

Action folded around to Erik Seidel in the big blind and he limped in. Chino Rheem checked his option and these two were set to go at it again.

The flop was {6-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{8-Clubs} and both players checked. The turn was the {5-Hearts} and Seidel led for 40,000. Rheem raised to 125,000 and Seidel, who still had a broad smile on his face from the monster pot he recently won, made the call.

The river was the {a-Hearts}, Seidel checked and Rheem bet 200,000. Seidel thought for a bit and let go of his hand to give Rheem some small sense of revenge.

Erik Seidel raised to 72,000 from the cutoff seat and Chino Rheem called from the button. The flop came down {A-Clubs}{A-Hearts}{K-Diamonds} and Seidel fired 105,000. Rheem took a few moments and then called to see the {7-Spades} fall on the turn. Seidel fired again, this time making it 180,000. Rheem leaned forward and checked out Seidel's stack. He then took another look at his holecards before studying some more. After another two minutes or so, Rheem announced a raise and made it 405,000 to go.

After the turn raise from Rheem, it was Seidel's turn to go into the tank. He studied for a minute or so and then made the call. The dealer landed the {4-Diamonds} on the end of the board and Seidel checked. Rheem took some time to himself before reaching towards his chips and pulling out a chunk. After shuffling and cutting some of his stack, Rheem announced that he was all in, having Seidel covered. Silence came over the crowd as Seidel sat in the tank for a couple minutes. Rheem's rail was on their feet anxiously awaiting what was happening.

After a couple of minutes, Seidel adjusted himself in his chair and apologized to the table for taking so long. "Sorry guys," he said before studying for a bit more. Seidel had what looked to be approximately 725,000 behind. Finally, Seidel announced a call.

Immediately, Rheem tapped the table and Seidel tabled the {7-Diamonds}{5-Clubs} for two pair, aces and sevens. All Rheem could do was muck and began to count down the chips to send over. Seidel's stack was counted down to 740,000 and Rheem sent it over.

After sending over the chips, Rheem stood up, turned to his rail and said, "If I saw his hand, I'd do it again."

Mercier's Pair of Kings Win

Level 20 : 12,000/24,000, 4,000 ante

From the button, Gavin Smith raised to 55,000. Jason Mercier three-bet to 133,000 from the small blind and Smith called to see the {A-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{4-Spades} flop come out. Mercier bet 93,000 and Smith called.

The {K-Spades} landed on the turn and both players checked to see the {J-Hearts} fall on the river. Mercier reached for chips and bet 172,000. Smith tanked for a bit and then made the call.

Mercier tabled {K-}{Q-} for a pair of kings with a queen kicker and Smith mucked his hand.

More for Smith

Level 20 : 12,000/24,000, 4,000 ante

On a {3-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{8-Spades} flop, Gavin Smith checked first to act. Hasan Habib, who had raised preflop from the cutoff, continued for 80,000. Smith called and the turn was the {10-Clubs}. Both players checked quickly. The river was the {7-Spades} and Smith led out for 125,000. Habib thought only briefly before making the fold.

As Smith was raking in the chips, Tournament Director Matt Savage announced that Smith is now over one million chips.
