Hand #51 - Dag Mikkelsen

Dag Mikkelsen opens to 290,000 and is called by the big blind, Matthew Woodward. It's a spade-a-pa-looza on the flop, {8-Spades} {J-Spades} {6-Spades}. Woodward checks to the stacked Mr. Mikkelsen, who makes the price of poker 380,000 then peeks back at his cards. Woodward calls to the turn, which is not another spade but was a big card -- the {A-Hearts}. Woodward checks a second time, prompting Mikkelsen to bet three-quarters of a million chips. Woodward is finally convinced to fold.

Eric Qu Eliminated in 5th Place (€470,000)

Hand No. 43 -

The very next hand, Mikhail Tulchinskiy was at it again. He opened for 350,000 in front of a reraise all infor 1.46 million by Eric Qu. Tulchinskiy snap-called and for a second hand in a row, the cards were on their backs!

Tulchinskiy: {A-Diamonds} {Q-Spades}
Qu: {K-Hearts} {Q-Hearts}

We were primed to lose Eric Qu after a flop of {3-Diamonds} {J-Spades} {5-Spades} helped neither player, leaving Qu looking for one of the three kings or running straight cards. He found the {K-Diamonds} on the turn and was out of his seat in elation. But you can't count your chickens before they've hatched in Texas Hold'em; Tulchinskiy caught his own miracle with a river {A-Spades} to knock Qu out in 5th place.
