Skampa Pounces

Skampa opened the pot to 270,000 from the button, and Avitan called. The flop brought {J-Diamonds} {8-Clubs} {5-Spades} and a check from Avitan. Skampa continued out with a bet of 280,000 and was quickly called, and the {7-Clubs} drew fourth-street checks from both players. On the river {3-Clubs}, Avitan decided to lead out into the pot for 375,000. Bad move. Skampa topped two stacks of orange chips with another seven of them and slid out a reraise to 1.175 million. It was a no-go for Avitan as he quickly released his cards into the muck.

Skampa's Ace Enough

Skampa made it 270,000 to see a flop, and Avitan obliged him with the call. The board ran out {K-Clubs} {K-Spades} {Q-Spades} {10-Clubs} {7-Hearts} with both men uncharacteristically checking it down the whole way.

"Ace," said Skampa, turning over {A-Diamonds} {3-Spades} and winning the pot with his high card.

Small Ball for All

Skampa made it 270,000 from the button and Avitan called. A {Q-Hearts} {Q-Diamonds} {3-Spades} flop followed, which both checked.

After that, there was a {4-Clubs} turn - but Avitan now bet out 300,000 and Skampa passed, ending the hand.

We could be here for some time.

Skampa Not Giving Up

Skampa raised to 270,000 from the button and Avitan made the call to see a {J-Clubs} {9-Hearts} {10-Spades} flop, which they both checked.

Come the {4-Diamonds} turn, Avitan bet out 325,000 and Skampa called. And similarly, Avitan bet out 625,000 on the {2-Hearts} river and Skampa called that.

Skampa turned over a rather cagily-played {J-Hearts} {4-Hearts} for two pair, while Avitan could only boast {A-Hearts} {8-Spades}.

Chip counts after that:

Skampa 7.2 million, Avitan 10.4 million.

Stefan Mattsson Eliminated in 3rd Place (255,000)

Stefan Mattsson - 3rd Place

Fireworks on the first hand back from break!

From the button, Eyal Avitan raised to 375,000. Stefan Mattsson instantly moved all in for from the small blind, and Avitan made the call to put him at risk!

Showdown
Avitan: {10-Hearts} {J-Diamonds}
Mattsson: {10-Spades} {Q-Diamonds}

Mattsson stood from his chair to sweat his fate, all in but in the lead. Who wants an exciting flop? The crowd gasped in unison as the dealer ran the first three cards: {7-Spades} {9-Spades} {8-Spades}. Run better, Mr. Avitan. He had flopped the straight, but Mattsson wasn't quite dead yet, not by any means. The three spades gave him the only flush draw to go with his higher straight draw.

The turn was a black card, but it was a blank {3-Clubs}. The river was black too, but it had three petals and a stem as well. The {6-Clubs} was of no use to the at-risk Mattsson, making his inferior straight and marking his 3rd-place finish. It's been a remarkable run for Mattsson this week, earning the biggest tournament score, but his day is done.

Break Time

TD Kevin announced that everyone was all in! Media and railers came running from all corners of the room to witness the three-way monster pot!

But it was a massive lie, and the players all went off to break. Nice one, Kevin. Nice one, son.

Skampa Gets Jiggy

Blind on blind, Jan Skampa made it 270,000 and Eyal Avitan called.

They saw a {4-Spades} {3-Clubs} {2-Clubs} flop and Skampa bet out 450,000. Avitan called. When they came to the {J-Spades} turn, though, Skampa bet out 1,010,000 - and this time Avitan passed.

Preflop Reraise Shocker

Stefan Mattsson made it 235,000 from the button and small blind Jan Skampa called. Eyal Avitan in the big bind, however, raised an amount we reckon was probably in the region of 1 million (he seems to be stacking his chips at random) - and once both players had passed, he picked up the pot.
