Boris Yaplonskiy Elimianted in 24th Place (€15,500)

Boris Yaplonskiy - 24th Place
Boris Yaplonskiy - 24th Place
First into the pot from early position, Boris Yaplonskiy opened with an all-in shove for his last 95,000 chips. Over on the button, Sven Eichelbaum made a move of his own, shoving his 266,000 into the middle as well. Next door, Jan Skampa squeezed his cards out slowly before making the call to put both men at risk! With the betting action closed, the cards were turned over:

Yaplonskiy: {A-Hearts} {6-Diamonds}
Eichelbaum: {Q-Hearts} {Q-Spades}
Skampa: {9-Clubs} {9-Spades}

Skampa was looking to pull a nine for the double knockout, while Yaplonskiy would likely need an ace to stay afloat. The dealer didn't provide much drama as she ran out a blank board of {3-Spades} {J-Clubs} {7-Spades} {K-Spades} {10-Spades}. Eichelbaum improves to the spade flush, his queens holding to earn him a double-up and then some. He's up to about 650,000 courtesy of those two ladies.

For Yaplonskiy, though, it's the end of the road. Coming in as the short stack, he couldn't find that early double up, and he's been ousted in 24th place.
