Shaun F****** Deeb

We picked up the action on the flop, heads-up between Shaun Deeb and Sabri Thomas Alenius. There was about 10,000 already in the pot, and the board showed {4-Clubs} {5-Hearts} {7-Clubs}. Alenius checked, and Deeb fired 5,700 chips at the pot. His opponent then stuck in a check-raise to 16,500, and Deeb spent some time in the tank.

After about two minutes, he quietly announced, "All in," and slid a covering tower of chips across the line. Alenius counted down his stack and stared at the pot before committing his final ~75,000 chips to the hand, all in and at risk.

Showdown
Deeb: {A-Spades} {4-Spades}
Alenius: {K-Clubs} {Q-Clubs}

Deeb's bottom pair was ahead, but he was pretty much flipping against Alenius' overcards and flush draw. The {A-Hearts} on the turn was a good card for Deeb as it killed the ace of clubs as an out for Alenius. The river was black, but it was the {2-Spades}, and Deeb's two pair earned him another nice pot.

The young American pro is on a big surge over the last two levels. He's moved his stack up to about 215,000 now, leaving Sabri Thomas Alenius floundering in his wake.
