On the last hand before the break, Ilari Tahkokallio completed from the small blind and then Marc Inizan raised from the big blind to 370,000. Tahkokallio took a second and then mucked, bringing the players to a 15-minute break.
Ilari Tahkokallio raised from under the gun to 220,000. Both blinds made the call; Kevin MacPhee in the small blind and Artur Wasek in the big blind.
The flop came down and MacPhee checked. Wasek checked and then Tahkokallio fired a continuation bet of 360,000. That wasn't good enough in MacPhee's eyes. He raised to 870,000. Wasek folded and then Tahkokallio followed suit.
From under the fun, Kevin MacPhee raised to 230,000. This ihas been the standard opening raise for MacPhee. Artur Wasek quickly grabbed a stack of chips and three-bet to 850,000. That reraise was enough to take down the pot and Wasek won some chips.
Wasek doesn't seem to count out his reraises, instead he just grabs a chunk of his chips and puts them across the betting line. Each time he does this, his opponents usually fold when they see that he has committed a hefty portion of his entire stack to the hand.
A promising start, as Marc Inizan raised to 230,000 and Ilari Tahkokallio called in the big blind.
Back down to earth, though, as the two checked down the flop and the turn. Tahkokallio checked the river too, and when Inizan bet 225,000, Tahkokallio giggled and laid it down.
Normally, televisied final tables are slow and boring for the most part. Well, not the one at the EPT Berlin. Each hand has had some great action. If it's not a raise and a three-bet, the hand will have three players to the flop in a raised pot. There's been numerous seven-figure pots and the chips are changing hands regularly.
Also of note is that these hands aren't being played slowly. The players are acting rather quickly with each decision and moving the game along nicely. It's great to watch and enjoy. Don't forget that you can check out the live feed as well on EPT Live. We've already halved the field at the final table and no one seems to be slowing down!
Since giving up the chip lead a little while ago, Kevin MacPhee has been on the move trying to get his chips back. He's won the three hands following the hand where he lost the chip lead and is back to about 9.5 million chips.
