Under the gun, Jake Cody opened to 260,000. Small blind Craig Bergeron moved his stack in, committing all 1.925 million of his remaining chips to the pot. When the big blind folded, Cody instantly called with a chance at the knockout. Let's flip a coin, shall we?
Cody:
Bergeron:
The flop was a relative miss for Bergeron, but he did pick up four more outs as it came . The that spiked fourth street was most certainly one of his out cards, improving him to a pair of aces and needing to fade just two outs to stay alive. When the completed the board, Bergeron secured his double up, essentially trading stacks with Cody.
First to act, Mike McDonald raised to 220,000. Jake Cody moved all for 1.84 million. And then Craig Bergeron reshoved for almost 3.8 million. Back to McDonald, snap-fold. No, wait. Not so fast. McDonald thought for at least a minute while they rail had a heart attack, but he eventually mucked his hand. Time for high stakes coin flipping.
Bergeron:
Cody: - at risk
Board:
Cody's fans let out a sigh of relief, and their hooded boy is still in the game. He's back to 4 million, more than enough to do some damage. Bergeron is down to just under 2 million.
Craig Bergeron limped in on the small blind, only for Mike McDonald in the big blind to raise to 280,000. Bergeron however now re-popped for 1.6 million, and McDonald folded instantly with a nod and a respectful tap on the table.
Mike McDonald has been running over the table since his double up, opening most of the hands that are folded to him. So no one was surprised when he raised to 220,000 preflop. Claudius Secara had to like his spot when he shipped in his 910,000. Snap call from Timex. Bad timing for Secara.
McDonald:
Secara: - at risk
Boring board:
Secara got a rousing cheer from his fans as he headed to the interview area. The rest of the table, on the other hand, is anything but cheering to see McDonald get even more chips. His towering stack is now over 10 million.
The action folded around to the blinds, and small blind Jake Cody moved all in for just under 1 million chips. In the big, Stephane Albertini peeked at his cards and made the call, putting himself all in and at risk for about 700,000 total.
Showdown
Cody:
Albertini:
Oops. The flop came out , not much help. The on the turn was a good card, giving Albertini four outs to the win and four more outs to the chop with his double gutter. Unfortunately for the Corsican, the river was a blank , and that's all she wrote. Albertini has been knocked off in 6th place, taking home a six-figure payday for his work this week.
