B?kke Not Backing Down

Johannes Strassmann tried it on for 160,000 from the small blind but Allan B?kke put a stop to all of that with a 410,000 re-pop from the big blind.

Strassmann, already the shortest of the fairly evenly stacked four at the table, has now dipped below 3 million.

Medesan Takes a Stab

Portrait of a bluffer
Portrait of a bluffer
We just caught the tail end of this sneakily-large pot. On the river, the board showed {A-Diamonds} {J-Clubs} {4-Spades} {5-Diamonds} {2-Diamonds}, and there was about 600,000 in the pot. When the last card was out, Alain Medesan fired 425,000 at the pot. B?kke cut out the calling chips and fingered them for a minute or so before sliding them into the middle.

Medesan promptly mucked his hand, and B?kke took down the pot with his mysteriously superior holdings. He's retaken the chip lead with about 5.5 million.

Hand #100!

Alain Medesan opened the pot to 150,000, and he yielded to a 465,000-chip reraise from Johannes Strassmann.

Such is how it went on the 100th hand of this final table.

B?kke Four/Five-Betting Reaps Rewards

Wow, this is an interesting hand...

The action went as follows:

- Allan B?kke raised to 125,000 under the gun.
- Russell Carson reraised to 370,000 on the button.
- Alain Medesan in the small blind attempted to four-bet but only put in 500,000 which was not enough to be a raise; it was ruled a call instead.
- B?kke now actually four-bet to a million.
- Carson looked very confused and eventually folded.
- Medesan folded too.

We are very much looking forward to seeing on TV what they all had there...

Carson Snags the Lead

Russell Carson opened to 155,000 under the gun, and he found a call from Allan B?kke in the big blind.

The two men saw a flop of {4-Diamonds} {2-Clubs} {3-Diamonds}, and B?kke check-called a bet of 205,000. Both men checked the {8-Diamonds} on the turn, and the {5-Hearts} filled out the board. When B?kke checked a third time, Carson made one last bet of 370,000. The call from B?kke came rather quickly.

"Straight," said Carson, and B?kke was just about to table his hand when Carson's {A-Diamonds} {6-Hearts} hit the felt. A sour look crossed B?kke's face, and he decided to forgo showing down and send his cards right back into the muck instead.

Carson's straight to the six earns him that big pot and the chip lead, dropping B?kke down into third place.

Carson - 4.885
B?kke - 4.095

Play On!

The final four players are back in their chairs with bellies full of the buffet. We've got about 60 minutes left in Level 27, and the cards are back in the air!
