Turning Trickett

Of the seven Brits who made it to Day 3, Sam Trickett started the day with the most chips - his 351,900 was good enough for fourth place in the chip counts. PokerNews' own Djinn, who has played against him many times, describes his style as, "Controlled and fearless and just really tough to play against. Everyone describes themselves as really aggressive, but he really is. And he probably doesn't know the value of money," and indeed Trickett has done nothing but increase his stack so far today.

Just now we witnessed Trickett open for 10,000 in the cutoff only for Martin Jacobson to make it 31,000 from the small blind. Trickett, receiving a massage already (these tournaments can be very stressful) tanked up for a little while, before making it 56,000 to go and staring confidently and somewhat confrontationally at Jacobson.

Jacobson hadn't been tanking for more than a couple minutes when Trickett quietly called the clock on him. And not long after, Jacobson folded and dropped to 290,000. Trickett meanwhile moved up to 385,000.
