Kent Lundmark Wins EPT Barcelona (825,000!)

Kent Lundmark - winner!
Kent Lundmark - winner!

Well that's it, the EPT Barcelona Main Event is over after Kent Lundmark destroyed the final table, eliminating five players on his way to victory.

Italy's Francesco Notaro was the first player to head to the cashier's desk when his {a-Spades}{k-Diamonds} lost to Jesus Cortes Lizano's {a-Clubs}{q-Spades}. He was followed soon after by Georgios Skotadis, when the Greek's pocket tens could not suck out on the pocket jacks of Thor Stang.

Two more hours passed before the table lost another player, in fact it lost three players in less than half an hour! Lundmark was responsible for the demise of Stang, then Giuseppe Pantaleo and finally Shander de Vries.

Another two hours passed before three became the final two and once again it was Lundmark who took the player out. WSOP bracelet winner, Konstantin Puchkov slowplayed a pair of red kings preflop but it proved to be his undoing as he called an all-in bet from Lundmark on a {3-Spades}{j-Spades}{7-Clubs} flop. The kings stayed ahead when the {10-Diamonds} showed up on the turn but the {k-Spades} on the river not only improved Puchkov to a set, but also Lundmark to a winning flush.

Going into the heads-up battle, Lundmark held a 12,405,000 to 10,550,000 chip lead over the Spaniard Lizano and he always looked in control, though it did take him 90 minutes win all of his chips. The final hand saw Lundmark raise to 320,000, Lizano re-raise to 880,000 and then call Lundmark's all-in bet! Lundmark held {a-Hearts}{q-Hearts}, Lizano {k-Spades}{j-Diamonds}; the final board ran out {9-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{7-Spades}{5-Spades}{a-Spades} and EPT Barcelona had a new champion.

Congratulations to everyone who cashed at EPT Barcelona, next stop Prague. See you there!
