Jeff Williams: Slightly More Heart
Three players to a flop, and who was to know this would end up being a multiple 100k pot? A sedate lead of 5k from Adam Jerney resulted in a raise to 20k from Erik Friberg and a stack-peer followed by a flat call from Jeff Williams in position too.
The turn was the and Jerney checked, Friberg bet 40k and again after a little thinking time Williams called, while Jerney threw his hand away. On the river Friberg stopped betting, opting instead to check and (reluctantly) call Williams' 70k bet.
"I have a funny feeling you have me... but I can't lay this down," he admitted, turning up . Williams showed for the turned nut flush and took the pot, although he didn't seem totally delighted, as if he could have maybe stacked Friberg there. Friberg, however, disagreed: "I don't think you realise how close I was to folding there," he admonished his plump-stacked opponent.
