Freitez Calls to Victory

Level 31 : 80,000/160,000, 20,000 ante

Brinkmann gave it a shot with a preflop raise with {8-Clubs}{3-Clubs} on the button, which little did he know was crushing caller Freitez who held {6-Hearts}{3-Clubs}. The flop brought {J-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{9-Spades} and Freitez simply led the flop and took the pot.

Next Brinkmann button, he tried again with {9-Hearts}{4-Hearts} (320,000), called by big blind Freitez holding {2-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}. Both players checked the {8-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{6-Spades} flop, but when Freitez checked the {K-Clubs} turn, Brinkmann bet 370,000. Freitez called.

The river was the {5-Diamonds}. Check to Brinkmann one more time. He bet 680,000, and again, Freitez made the call! He was, of course, good, and was already a hero to his rail.

First Hands of Heads Up and No Flops

Level 31 : 80,000/160,000, 20,000 ante

First hand of heads up and Freitez picks up {3-Hearts}{2-Diamonds} and mucks. Brief respite for Brinkmann.

Couple of hands later and Freitez gets the {9-Clubs}{2-Spades} instead and raised to 380,000 to win the pot.

Brinkmann raised to 320,000 with {9-Clubs}{8-Clubs} on the button, Freitez folded {9-}{6-} in the big blind.

Freitez folded from the small blind, another walk for Brinkmann.

Brinkmann raised to 320,000 with {5-Clubs}{4-Clubs} this time, Freitez folded {9-}{2-} in the big blind. Still without a flop.

Freitez raised to 380,000 from the button with {6-Clubs}{4-Clubs} and Brinkmann folded {A-Clubs}{2-Spades} in the big blind. David Williams in the commentary box is shocked.

Tamas Lendvai Eliminated in 3rd Place (550,000)

Tamas Lendvai
Tamas Lendvai

It folded to Ivan Freitez in the small blind and this time he had a serious hand - {a-Spades}{q-Clubs}. He raised to 380,000 and Torsten Brinkmann folded his big blind.

Next hand, Freitez won another pot raising with {a-Hearts}{5-Spades} from the button. As As David Williams said on the commentary, "It's bizarre how many aces this guy's had."

Next hand it looked as though Freitez might have a rest when Brinkmann raised to 350,000 from the button and Tamas Lendvai shoved for 2.2 million from the small blind holding {9-Spades}{9-Diamonds}. But Freitez looked down at his cards and found {a-Hearts}{9-Hearts}.

"Wow," said David Williams.

"Wow," said Freitez. He reshoved and Brinkmann quickly folded his {j-Clubs}{8-Spades}.

On their backs, Lendvai was well ahead. But there is seemingly no stopping Freitez on this final table.

Board: {3-Diamonds}{a-Spades}{10-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}

The ace smacked on the flop and Lendvai looked as though he might cry. Nevertheless, he was soon in the arms of his wife on the rail and feeling a bit better - he's won over half a million euros.

One Back for Brinkmann

Level 31 : 80,000/160,000, 20,000 ante

A slight dent to the monster stack of Freitez, who flat called a button raise from Brinkmann with {A-Hearts}{4-Spades} in the big blind. The flop was {Q-Diamonds}{J-Clubs}{4-Hearts}, which Freitez check-called (325,000). Both players checked the {5-Hearts} turn and on the {J-Diamonds} river Freitez gave a half hearted attempt to bet his opponent off - 325,000 went into the middle. It was called instantly and one of the very few pots of this final table not to be won by Freitez was shipped across the table.

Someone Other Than Freitez Wins a Hand

Level 31 : 80,000/160,000, 20,000 ante

Torsten Brinkman made it 350,000 from the button with {7-Clubs}{4-Hearts} and everyone folds. That's the first hand that Freitez hasn't won since we restarted.

Freitez raised to 320,000 from the small blind with {5-Diamonds}{3-Hearts} and Brinkmann called with {K-Spades}{5-Hearts}.

The flop was {a-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{2-Spades} and Freitez fired out 320,00 again and Brinkmann called.

Freitez raised to 375,000 with {6-Clubs}{5-Clubs} and Torsten Brinkmann picked up {K-Clubs}{Q-Clubs} and moved all in. Freitez tanked and we knew he wasn't going to call. He then folded.

Andrey Danilyuk Eliminated in 4th Place (400,000)

Level 30 : 60,000/120,000, 15,000 ante
Andrey Danilyuk
Andrey Danilyuk

Will there be no stopping Ivan Freitez? A fold to short stack Andrey Danilyuk saw him make a stand with {3-Spades}{3-Diamonds} - unsurprising considering his lack of cards, spots so far four-handed and, of course, chips. 2,000,000 was not enough to even dent Freitez, who called with {A-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}.

Flop: {J-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}
Turn: {K-Hearts}
River: {A-Hearts}

The ace on the river spelled a walk to the rail for our first televised finalist, while the steamrolling Freitez continues his ascent.

Freitez Over 12 Million Mark

Level 30 : 60,000/120,000, 15,000 ante

Ivan Freitez min-raised under the gun with {a-Diamonds}{8-Spades} and Torsten Brinkmann, undeterred by losing over 2 million in that last hand, flat-called with {10-Spades}{9-Spades} on the button. It was all over on the flop this time - Freitez flopped two pair ({a-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{8-Hearts}) and bet out 350,000. Brinkmann snap-folded, and it was yet another pot for Freitez.

Next hand, Freitez got a walk. He's won every single hand so far.
