Max Heinzelmann Pressure Play

Level 27 : 30,000/60,000, 5,000 ante

Max Heinzelmann made a standard raise to 160,000, Roberto Spada three-bet to 445,000 and Heinzelmann called.

Flop: {4-Clubs} {q-Spades} {10-Diamonds}

Heinzelmann checked to Spada who bet 865,000 into a 1,020,000 pot. Action back over to Heinzelmann who pumped the pot up to 2,125,000. The decision was back on Spada and it was a huge decision. We have seen this type of play from Heinzelmann all week and it has been highly effective. Spada took him time to think through his options before choosing the fold option.

Heinzelmann is now our new chip leader with 8,730,000 chips.

Heinz Can't Ketch Up

Level 27 : 30,000/60,000, 5,000 ante

Max Heinzelmann opened the button to 120,000 and Roberto Spada made the call from the big blind to see a flop of {7-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{2-Clubs}. Spada check-called a bet of 115,000 to see a {J-Clubs} turn where Heinzelmann then fired a second time, a bet of 165,000. Spada now intriguingly check-raised to 480,000 and Heinzelmann made the call before both checked the {A-Hearts} river.

Spada turned over an interestingly played {q-Spades}{j-Spades} which was good.

Xuan to Win

Level 27 : 30,000/60,000, 5,000 ante

Xuan Liu may be one of our shorter stacks, but she is not resigning herself to it. Just now she got a little chunk out of chip leader Rupert Elder when he min-raised from the button and she reraised to 290,000 from the big blind. Elder gave her the benefit of the doubt and folded.

First Blood: Elder

Level 27 : 30,000/60,000, 5,000 ante

Rupert Elder raised the first hand to 125,000 but folded when Roberto Spada made it 330,000 behind him.

Costantino Russo made it 160,000 from the small blind to win Francesco De Vivo's big blind.

Rupert Elder raised to 125,000 and got called by Massimiliano Manigrasso and Costantino Russo, giving us our first flop of the day, a co-ordinated {K-Clubs}{J-Diamonds}{7-Clubs} board. Elder bet 180,000 and Manigrasso was the sole caller to the {q-Spades} turn. Elder now checked across to the Italian who bet a curiously small 185,000 and Elder made the call as the pot went over the 1 million chip mark.

The river was the {A-Hearts} and both players checked, Manigrasso turned over {a-Spades}{j-Spades} but Elder's {A-Clubs}{Q-Hearts} won the pot.
