Mattern Crushed By Runner-Runner
French Team PokerStars Pro has just seen his already quite short stack decimated after Ville Salmi hit an unlikely runner-runner straight.
Mattern raised preflop to 3,700 from early position and the action folded to Salmi in the small blind. He stack all of his remaining chips into a single tower and moved them forwards as an all in bet. The big blind quickly folded but Mattern was not going anywhere. "How much you have?" he asked, "About 12?" Salmi nodded and Mattern said, "I call."
Mattern turned over 
and was in a coinflip against the 
of Salmi. The 
flop improved Mattern to a set but when his delight soon turned to anguish as the turn and river were the

respectively, giving Salmi a winning straight.
Mattern is now nursing an even shorter stack of around 12,000 whilst Salmi climbs to close to 28,000.
