Kings for Alekberovas

With 1.54 million in the pot and a flop of {A-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{3-Hearts}, Mikalai Pobal led out for 450,000 from the small blind and received a call from Anaras Alekberovas, who held {K-Clubs}{K-Spades} under the gun. The players then checked down the {4-Spades} turn and {7-Spades} river, and Alekberovas was pushed the pot.

Pobal Pushes Duda

On a flop of {10-Clubs}{J-Hearts}{8-Spades}, Mikalai Pobal bet 275,000 from under the gun after flopping a set with {8-Clubs}{8-Hearts}. Antonin Duda was in the cutoff and opted to raise to 575,000 with {7-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}, and after thinking it over for a few minutes, Pobal pushed back to the tune of 1.075 million. It proved enough to get the job done as Duda released his hand.

John Juanda Eliminated in 8th Place (76,100)

John Juanda - 8th
John Juanda - 8th

On Hand #11 of the final table, action folded around to Samuel Rodriguez in the small blind and he put in a raise to 180,000 with {A-Hearts}{5-Hearts}. John Juanda was in the big blind and thought a long while before moving all in for 1.665 million with {5-Clubs}{5-}. Rodriguez thought even longer, but eventually made the call.

The {8-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{8-Clubs} flop was safe for Juanda, while the {7-Clubs} turn made the {A-Clubs} no good for Rodriguez. With that said, the latter picked up counterfeit options, meaning a seven on the river would give him eights and sevens with an ace kicker. Much to the shock of the crowd, the {7-Spades} spiked to put an end to Juanda's tournament in eighth place.

Two Full Houses

Samuel Rodriguez opened for 180,000 from early position with {Q-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds} and Anaras Alekberovas called from the small blind with {7-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}. The {2-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{2-Clubs} flop saw Alekberovas check-call a bet of 215,000, and then he check-called a bet of 280,000 on the {9-Hearts} turn.

The {2-Hearts} river saw Alekberovas check for a third time, and then he paid off Rodriguez's bet of 400,000 with an inferior full house.

Jouhkimainen Moves All In

Local player Samuel Rodriguez opened for 170,000 from early position with {6-Diamonds}{5-Hearts} only to have short-stacked Joni Jouhkimainen moved all in from the cutoff for 1.325 million with {A-Clubs}{8-Spades}. The button and both blinds got out of the way, and Rodriguez followed suit by tossing his cards to the muck.
