Engel Puts Isaia to the Test
The player under the gun made it 950 to go and found calls from Ari Engel in the hijack and Alessio Isaia in the big blind.
The flop was checked around, landing the on the turn. Isaia bet 1,450, getting the initial raiser to fold. Engel raised to 4,100 and that is where things became interesting. Isaia intended to call, placing calling chips on the table, but did so without removing his initial betting chips swiftly enough, leaving 6,600 out there for longer than you would usually see.
As far as the dealer was concerned it was a call, but Engel didn't believe so and asked for a floor ruling. In the end, it was ruled that Isaia had to put in the minimum raise (in this case 8,200). After about two minutes of sorting out whether the pot was correct, action was finally on Engel and he re-raised to 29,100.
After another three minutes in the tank for Isaia, he gave up the pot to Engel.
