A Quite Ridiculous Hand

Level 4 : 100/200, 25 ante

Sergey Borisenko made the unconventional play of limping from under the gun and then Mathew Frankland, next to act, raised to 700. Andrei Nikonov, two seats from Frankland, called as did Alexander Stepin in the cutoff. Borisenko called to complete the preflop betting round.

The flop came down {10-Spades}{7-Spades}{4-Hearts} and this is where things got a little strange. Borisenko lead out with a 6,000 bet into the 2,800 pot and Frankland sighed before letting his hand go. Nikonov smiled and folded, but Stepin called.

The turn was the {A-Spades} and Borisenko looked completely resigned from winning the hand, rocking back on his chair before tapping the table and checking, not wanting to risk his remaining 6,800 chips. Stepin fired out a bet of 7,000 and Borisenko went into the tank.

He emerged 90 seconds later with a fold, showing the table his pocket tens for middle set! Stepin showed him the {K-Spades} in response, and the rest of the table could not believe what they had just witnessed.
