Lassell King Eliminates Craig Burke and Takes the Chip Lead

Level 21 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante
Ciaran Burke
Ciaran Burke

This hand happened on the live stream and was the biggest hand of the tournament so far. From under-the-gun+2 Craig Burke opened to 24,000 from stack of 1,100,000 and Lasell King three-bet to 71,000 from the small blind from a stack of 1,300,000 and Burke made the call.

On the {2-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{q-Spades} flop King c-bet 85,000 and Burke smooth called. The {4-Hearts} fell on the turn, King didn't slow down, he fired a second barrel, this time 190,000 and again Burke called. So there was now 720,000 in the pot before the {5-Diamonds} hit the river. King Set Burke all-in for his final 780,000. Burke tanked for over four minutes, Theo Jorgensen was in the booth and thought that King's bet would make Burke lay down any queen because King had overbet the pot. He though King would bet smaller for value. But after four minutes Burke made the call, King showed {K-Spades}{K-Clubs} and Burke {A-Clubs}[Qq] and a huge 2,490,000 pot went the way of King.

Julian Track Makes A Great Call to Elimininate Ari Engel

Level 21 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante
Julian Track
Julian Track

Julian Track looked extremely happy with himself and well he might as he now has a stack of 1,800,000 after eliminating Ari Engel.

There was already over 500,000 in the pot by the time the players reached the river of a {2-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}{3-Hearts} board, Engel (small blind) announced that he was all-in. Track (button) requested a count, it was 411,000 total for him to call, so almost 50% of his stack. He counted out the call and then his remaining chips and then announced call.

Engel didn't show immediately, so Track figured he had the winner and slammed {5-Spades}{5-Diamonds} on the felt and he did as Engel showed {Q-Spades}{5-Hearts} as he exited the tournament.

Marquez Shoves the River

Level 21 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante
Ana Marquez
Ana Marquez

A huge crowd of media and players who were on the break from the €10,000 High Roller were gathered round Ana Marquez's table as a huge pot was going on. Marquez was all-in for 289,000 on the river of a {5-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{a-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}6d] board. There was around 230,000 in the pot and Tamer Kamel was the player in the tank.

He had around 830,000 back and asked Marquez if she'd show if he folded. "I could tell you afterwards, but I doubt I'll show," she replied. Eventually Kamel opted to preserve his stack and he folded.

Ari Engel Gets Lucky

Level 21 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

After Ari Engel opened to 28,000, Rudi Johnsen three-bet to 65,000, Engel then set Johnsen all in for 428,000 and Johnsen made the call.

Engel: {K-Spades}{J-Spades}
Johnsen: {A-Diamonds}{A-Hearts}

The {j-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{7-Spades} board meant both players made a straight and Engel admitted how lucky he'd got.

Duvnjak Triples, Mayer Out in 38th (€18,400)

Level 21 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

In a big three way all in Ana Marquez was rather unfortunate just now.

Zdravko Duvnjak had pushed the button, Szabolcs Mayer went for it from the small blind and Ana Marquez in the big blind made the call to put them both at risk. Marquez had the best hand with {A-Diamonds}{K-Spades}. Mayer was second best with {A-Clubs}{6-Spades} en Duvnjak had {A-Hearts}{5-Hearts}.

The {4-Clubs}{4-Spades}{5-Clubs} was good for Duvnjak, the last Dutch player in the field. The {J-Diamonds} fell on the turn and {A-Spades} on the river. Aces and fives for Duvnjak who with that eliminated Mayer and doubled through a now short stacked Ana Marquez.

Moshe Elazar Eliminated in 39th Place (€18,400)

Level 21 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

"I thought you again had something like six or seven again" Elzar told his neighbor Georgios Sotiropoulos. But this time around the Greek player didn't have a mediocre connector but a powerhouse: {A-Spades}{K-Diamonds}. Sotiropoulos had raised from the small blind and had called the shove from Elzar in the big blind. Elzar showed {Q-Spades}{9-Spades} and would not hit: {J-Hearts}{8-Spades}{A-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{A-Hearts}. Another one bites the dust, Elazar finishes in 39th place for €18,400.

Artem Romanov Eliminated by Stephen Chidwick (40th, €15,600)

Level 21 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

Artem Romanov pushed all in from the button for 147,000. The small blind folded after some thinking but Stephen Chidwick called after asking for (and receiving) a count.

Chidwick turned over his {J-Spades}{Q-Hearts}, Romanov tabled {A-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}. Chidwick would flop a gutshot on {8-Clubs}{9-Spades}{3-Hearts} and immediately fill it up on the turn: {10-Clubs}. The river {8-Spades} gave Romanov trips but that was already a little too late.
