Ruzicka's Great Call Goes Unrewarded
Poker can be a cruel game at times, as Vojtech Ruzicka no doubt knows. Ruzicka has just made a great call in a hand involving Andras Nemeth that went unrewarded and resulted in him losing a large percentage of his stack.
The action passed around to Roman Korenev on the button and the Russian raised to 8,000. Ruzicka was in the small blind and he three-bet to 21,500 only to see Nemeth, in the big blind, four-bet all-in for what turned out to be 106,500. Korenev got out of the way but Ruzicka exhaled loudly and studied his now sole opponent. After 45 seconds, Ruzicka called.
Ruzicka:
Nemeth:
Ruzicka thought he was ahead and he was right, but how that would change. The flop gave Nemeth an open-ended straight draw and although the was no help to him, the completed Nemeth's straight and Ruzicka handed over half of his stack.
