Goulder’s New Table

Level 17 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante
Alex Goulder
Alex Goulder

Alex Goulder has moved to a new table and the two players to his left are Alexander Lakhov from Russia and Bahram Chobineh from Iran, so we thought we’d drop by and see how he was getting on with is new friends. Folded to Goulder in the small blind he raised to 10,000 and Lakhov made the call. They both checked it down to the river and with the board reading {10-Hearts}{a-Clubs}{k-Spades}{3-Clubs}{9-Diamonds} Goulder showed {10-Clubs}{7-Clubs} and the pair was good enough to take the pot. “Where are you from?” Goulder asked the Russian by way of introduction. Lakhov looked up from his i-pad, took an ear bud out and muttered something before quickly replacing it and refocusing his attention on the screen on his lap. Not very chatty then.

Goulder was on the button the next hand and a shove from the player to his right, Erkan Yildirim, won the pot. Next hand Goulder opened from the cut-off for 11,000 and won the blinds and antes. Another 11,000 from Goulder in the Hi-Jack and this time Bahram Chobineh tried his luck and called on the button. The flop was {5-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{8-Clubs} and a bet from Goulder of 15,000 saw Chobineh look once more at his cards before discarding them.

Goulder was at it again, 11,000 next hand and Roman Wieviorka decided to call from the small blind. The flop of {8-Spades}{7-Clubs}{2-Clubs} was checked. The turn card was {4-Diamonds} and Wieviorka check called a bet of 15,000 from Goulder. They both checked a river {2-Diamonds}. Wieviorka won with {a-Spades}{4-Hearts}. You can’t win them all I guess but Goulder is certainly giving it his best shot.
