First Hand of Heads-Up Play to Filatov

Level 25 : 25,000/50,000, 5,000 ante

In the first hand of heads-up play, Fabrice Soulier raised to 110,000 from the button and Anatoly Filatov defended from the big, which brought about a flop of {9-Spades}{10-Hearts}{7-Clubs}. Filatov proceeded to check-call a bet of 110,000, and then he check-called a bet of 155,000 on the {K-Spades} turn.

When the {2-Spades} completed the board on the river, Filatov checked for a third time and Soulier did the same. It was a good thing he did too as Filatov was slow playing two pair with the {k-Hearts}{7-Hearts}.

Oleh Okhotskyi Eliminated in 3rd Place for (182,500)

Level 25 : 25,000/50,000, 5,000 ante
Oleh Okhotskyi - 3rd Place
Oleh Okhotskyi - 3rd Place

Oleh Okhotskyi has done a fine job laddering up here at the final table, but his deep run just came to an end.

After growing quite short, Okhotskyi called off for 225,000 from the small blind after Anatoly Filatov had moved all in from the small.

Okhotskyi: {a-Spades}{5-Spades}
Filatov: {a-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}

Both players held an ace, which meant it came down to the kicker. Filatov was best in that department, but there was still a good chance of a chop, especially after the flop came down {3-Spades}{9-Clubs}{3-Hearts}. Okhotskyi was looking for either a five or a card eight or higher, but the {6-Hearts} turn was neither.

The same applied for the river, but once again Okhotskyi came up empty as the {2-Diamonds} blanked. Okhotskyi, who began the day as the third shortest stack, was eliminated in third place for 182,500.

To the River

Level 25 : 25,000/50,000, 5,000 ante

Fabrice Soulier opened for 100,000 and both Anatoly Filatov and Oleh Okhotskyi called.

They saw a flop of {7-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{2-Spades}.

Filatov led for 75,000, Okhotskyi folded and Soulier made the call. The turn was the {3-Hearts} and Filatov check called a bet of 110,000 from Soulier.

The river {q-Clubs} was checked down and Filatov showed his {6-Hearts}{6-Spades}. A nod from Soulier and the pot was pushed to Filatov.

Early Three Handed Play

Level 25 : 25,000/50,000, 5,000 ante

Anatoly Filatov has been doing quite a bit of limping on the button and small blind with decent results, a small bet on the flop often taking it down as he seeks to chip up. Very little has got beyond the flop never mind the turn.

Oleh Okhotskyi seems to be waiting for his spot and has been folding to any aggression. He hasnt raised any pots himself although there was one where he seemed to be thinking about it on the button before folding.

Chip Leader Fabrice Soulier has been using his freedom to raise more pots with some success so far.

Soulier Extends Lead by Taking Down Big Pot Right Before the Break

Level 24 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante

Fabrice Soulier is on a heater.

In the last hand before the break, Anatoly Filatov opened for 80,000 from the button and then called when his French foe three-bet to 140,000 from the big blind. The {9-Hearts}{q-Clubs}{4-Clubs} flop saw Filatov call a bet of 177,000 from Soulier, and then the {2-Clubs} appeared on the turn.

Soulier kept the pressure on with a bet of 277,000, but he couldn't shake the Russian. When the {10-Clubs} river put four clubs on board, both players checked their hole cards. Soulier then put together a big bet of 690,000, and Filatov snap-called.

Soulier rolled over the {k-Clubs}{a-Diamonds} for the second nuts, and it was good as a frustrated Filatov mucked and began counting out chips.

We'll have exact counts for you in a few minutes.
