A Classic Gus Hand Beats Aces
Gus Hansen's been known all over the world for his creative and aggressive playing style, and he just showed German pro Marko Neumann that it still works.
Hansen raised to 2,100 from late position and Neumann three-bet from the blinds to 7,000. The Great Dane went into the tank for a bit but eventually he made the call.
The flop brought out and Neumann gave it some thought before betting 7,500. Hansen played around with his chips for a bit before casually tossing in the call, chip by chip. On the turn the popped up and both players checked.
On the river the board completed with the and Neumann checked once again. Hansen took about 20 seconds before putting together a big bet worth 26,600 with just 15,000 chips left behind.
With a stoic look Neumann tanked and ultimately he put in the call. Hansen flipped over for a turned straight and he raked in this pot as Neumann flashed . The German pro's head slowly turned a bit red, but he remained silent as Hansen had just cracked his pocket aces.
