The Winter Is Not Over

There may be no snow in Dublin right now, but the temperatures are far from the ones of summer. Sean Winter won't mind though, as the American has experienced a decent start in this €25,750 High Roller Event. Plus, he took down another pot just now.

Christoph Vogelsang raised to 3,300 and was called by Paul Newey, who was on the button. Winter three-bet to 16,000 from the small blind, and Ivan Luca called from the big bling. Vogelsang and Newey both folded.

On the {K-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{7-Spades} flop, Winter continued for 18,500 and was called by Luca before both players checked the {2-Hearts} turn card. With the {10-Diamonds} river completing the board, Winter bet 69,500, and that was enough to shut down Luca's ambition to win the pot.

While Winter is among the bigger stacks in the room, he is not currently in the lead. That spot belongs to Kim Wittendorff, who just check-raised a flop, fired a turn, then shoved the river on a successful bluff against Sam Greenwood to rake in a big pot.
