Welcome to Day 2 of the EPT12 Dublin Main Event

EPT Dublin Poker Festival
EPT Dublin Poker Festival

A short Day 2 awaits all hopefuls in the 2016 PokerStars EPT12 Dublin Main Event with six 75-minute levels being scheduled. So far, 589 entries were recorded in the two starting days and at least 341 participants will be returning to the tables of the Royal Dublin Society in 90 minutes from now at 12 p.m. noon local time.

Registration remains open until the first card is dealt in level nine at blinds 400-800 with a running ante of 100 and new registrants will receive almost 40 big blinds on their way to glory on Irish soil.

Day 1a chip leader Gilles Bernies kept his top spot after accumulating 189,600 whereas Francisco Oliveira (175,100) jumped into second spot overall last night. Mike McDonald, youngest ever EPT Main Event champ (aged 18 years, 4 months and 22 days when he triumphed at EPT4 Dortmund) , follows in third place with 162,400 and Artem Litvinov's 138,900 are also good enough for the top 10 right now.

Plenty of poker talent has made it through to Day 2 with above-average stacks including Adrian Mateos (128,800), Anthony Zinno (124,800), Fabrice Soulier (123,400), Jean-Noel Thorel (110,000), Michael Wang (106,500) and online poker prodigy Chris Moorman (97,900). The red spade of PokerStars is represented by 10 poker icons with Team Online's Jaime Staples leading their line up on 89,600. The Team Pros Jason Mercier (83,200), Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier (81,400), Liv Boeree (80,000), Luca Pagano (70,000), George Danzer (69,300), Jake Cody (56,700) and Theo Jorgensen (16,700) are accompanied by Team Online's Mickey Petersen (76,000) and Friend of PokerStars Felipe "Mojave" Ramos (17,800).

The money won't be reached yet, but the field will be trimmed down significantly, so make sure to tune back in to the PokerNews live reporting regularly to see who makes the cut.
