Papazian Pulls Away
Alexandros Kolonias and Alexandru Papazian had previously split an ace-high board with four card straight, both held a queen to chop it up.
Now Kolonias raised to 325,000 and was called to see the flop . Papazian immediately fired a bet worth 350,000 and received a call before making a second barrel for 900,000 on the turn. Kolonias called and then faced the third and final barrel of 1.3 million on the river.
What followed was a period of around four minutes in the think tank and Kolonias then took off his sunglasses to stare at the opponent and the board. Papazian mostly stared at a fixed point near the community cards, but sometimes also stared back at Kolonias as well.
Two further minutes passed and Kolonias tossed in one chip for the call. Papazian rolled over and that won the pot to leave his opponent quite short.
