Mateos Wins Two in a Row
Adrian Mateos just won back-to-back hands.
In the first one, he raised to 1,800 and Martin Finger was his only customer. The flop came down and Mateos checked. Finger placed a bet of 2,500, only to see Mateos come back at him with a check-raise to 8,000. Finger quickly folded and the Spaniard added some chips to his stack.
He won some more in the following hand. He opened to 1,800 again and Juha Helppi made the call from the big blind. On the flop, Mateos continued for 2,800 and Helppi stayed around by calling.
The touched the felt on the turn and this time Mateos check-called a 3,200 bet from his opponent. The river was the and both players checked. Leaving him with just 25,000 chips left, only half the stack he started his second bullet with.
Mateos showed for the straight. Helppi double checked his hand and the board, only to find out he couldn't beat Mateos holding and tossed his cards in the muck.
