Kisacikoglu Takes the Lead on First Break

Level 22 : 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante

In the last hand of the level, the board showed {J-Spades}{5-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{4-Spades} and Orpen Kisacikoglu bet 65,000 in the big blind, which Dario Sammartino called on the button. Kisacikoglu bet again the {2-Clubs} turn for 85,000 and Sammartino let his shot clock run down to one second before calling.

Kisacikoglu tabled {7-Clubs}{5-Diamonds} and Sammartino mucked. Right after, the players were sent into a 15-minute break.

Sammartino Jams

Level 22 : 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante

Once Dario Sammartino doubled up, he was very engaged in table chat again and cracked many jokes, Bahram Chobineh chimed in and Kai Lehto was the only one to keep a serious face with a smile at the very end.

Sammartino got through with a jam once while Chobineh and Orpen Kisacikoglu stayed at the top of the counts.

Goran Mandic
Goran Mandic

The defending champion from Croatia, Goran Mandic, has grinded a short stack for quite some time and got two jams through without being called. His third attempt from the button for 230,000, however, was called by Kai Lehto in the big blind.

Goran Mandic: {Q-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}
Kai Lehto: {k-Hearts}{9-Spades}

The board came {9-Clubs}{3-Spades}{2-Spades}{K-Spades}{8-Hearts} and Mandic had to settle for 7th place and a payday of €53,500 this time.

Sammartino Left Short; Doubles Through Boeree

Level 22 : 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante

Dario Sammartino raised on the button and was called by Orpen Kisacikoglu in the big blind. The flop came {7-Spades}{5-Clubs}{3-Spades} and both players checked. After the {K-Diamonds} turn, Kisacikoglu checked and called a bet of 75,000 before checking again the {6-Hearts} on the river. Sammartino bet 165,000 with 215,000 behind and Kisacikoglu moved all in.

Sammartino immediately shook his head and used three of his four remaining time banks, then folded.

The Italian open-shoved shortly after and Liv Boeree called in the big blind.

Dario Sammartino: {K-Clubs}{J-Diamonds}
Liv Boeree: {Q-Hearts}{J-Clubs}

The board came {K-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{8-Spades} and Sammartino doubled back into contention.

Mandic Jams Into Boeree

Level 22 : 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante

Goran Mandic moved all in for 180,000 out of the small blind and Liv Boeree asked for a count in the big blind, then folded. Mandic flashed ace-queen and Boeree replied "you had me dominated, I folded a queen."

One hand later, Boeree was in a battle of the blinds with Kai Lehto and the flop showed {Q-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}. Boeree bet 30,000 and Lehto called. On the {2-Spades} turn both players checked and Boeree also checked the {4-Hearts} on the river. Lehto bet 85,000 and claimed the pot without showdown.

Luc Greenwood Eliminated in 8th Place (€40,300)

Level 22 : 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante
Lucas Greenwood
Lucas Greenwood

Liv Boeree raised to 55,000 and Luc Greenwood moved all in from the button.

"How much is it?" Michael Soyza asked in the big blind and Greenwood immediately replied "395,000." Soyza then moved all in for just over 400,000 and Boeree folded.

Luc Greenwood: {5-Diamonds}{5-Spades}
Michael Soyza: {K-Hearts}{K-Diamonds}

"Ace king one time?" Greenwood asked before the cards were tabled, then added "five one time" when he saw the bad news. The {10-Spades}{6-Clubs}{3-Hearts} flop brought some back door outs for the Canadian and he got even more hope when the {4-Clubs} appeared on the turn. However, the {Q-Spades} on the river was a blank and Greenwood was eliminated in 8th place for €40,300.

He may very well join his brother Sam shortly in the €26,000 Charity High Roller that has 14 entries thus far.

Mandic Gets Short; Lehto Above a Million

Level 22 : 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante

Orpen Kisacikoglu scooped a pot against Michael Soyza in a battle of the blinds and next it was Goran Mandic in the big blind. Kai Lehto raised to 50,000 and Mandic checked his stack carefully before tossing in calling chips, leaving himself with just 180,000 behind. On the {Q-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{5-Clubs} flop, Mandic checked and folded to a 45,000-bet of Lehto.

Lehto kept up the aggression and raised again first to act, which only Liv Boeree called. The flop brought {8-Spades}{6-Spades}{3-Clubs} and Boeree checked, then called a bet worth 65,000. After the {5-Diamonds} turn, Boeree checked again and Lehto now made it 165,000 to go. After using two time banks, Boeree sent her cards into the muck.
