Platinum Pass: Joao Barbosa Wins Crazy Pineapple Flip Out

Level 32 : 100,000/200,000, 200,000 ante
Joao Barbosa
Joao Barbosa

Joao Barbosa has just won a coveted Platinum Pass after beating 25 other players in a Crazy Pineapple Flip Out hand.

The final 26 players in the 500 No-Limit tournament gathered for the Flip Out before their action resumed and with just four tables remaining only four players made it to the final flip out.

The hands was dealt, and the flop came down {9-Spades}{j-Clubs}{4-Clubs} followed by the {q-Hearts} turn. Each player then revealed one card with Barbosa turning over the nine of clubs.

After the river card was revealed to be the {7-Spades}, all four players revealed their hands.

Barbosa flipped over another nine for a set and beat his nearest rival who held two pair with jack-four.

A stunned Barbosa, who won the EPT Warsaw Main Event in 2008, was handed the $30,000 Platinum Pass and is set to play in the $25,000 PokerStars Players NL Holdem Championship at the Atlantis Resort, Nassau, in The Bahamas in January 2019.

Dimov Pulls Ahead of Wang

Level 32 : 100,000/200,000, 200,000 ante

Piotr Nurzynski raised on the button to 400,000 with the {J-Hearts}{9-Hearts} and Rodrigo Carmo three-bet shoved for 3.3 million in the small blind with the {A-Hearts}{4-Spades}. Nurzynski folded and Carmo chipped up to 20 big blinds.

Haoxiang Wang raised to 450,000 with {6-Clubs}{5-Hearts} and Pedro Marques defended the {K-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} in the big blind. Both checked the {A-Clubs}{K-Hearts}{9-Spades} flop and the {3-Hearts} came on the turn. Wang checked and a bet of 550,000 by Marques ended the hand right there.

Wang made it 450,000 to go on the button with {8-Clubs}{5-Clubs} and Ognyan Dimov defended the {Q-Spades}{9-Diamonds}. Both players hit a pair on the {9-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{5-Hearts} and Dimov check-called a bet of 400,000. The {4-Clubs} on the turn gave Wang even more outs and Dimov checked, Wang bet 1.3 million and Dimov called.

The {10-Diamonds} river failed to improve Wang and Dimov checked to him. Wang checked behind to give up the pot and Dimov pulled ahead of Wang in the counts.

Haoxiang Wang raised to 425,000 with the {7-Spades}{4-Spades} and Piotr Nurzynski called in the big blind with {A-Clubs}{Q-Spades}. The flop brought {7-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{3-Spades} and Nurzynski checked, Wang bet 700,000 and that won the pot.

Wang raised again, first to act, with the {K-Clubs}{10-Spades} and made it 550,000 to go. Ognyan Dimov called in the cutoff with {10-Hearts}{10-Diamonds} and they went heads-up to the {J-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{6-Hearts} flop.
