Stalling Warnings Handed Out

Level 23 : 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante

There are a few short stacks who are currently being monitored by the tournament director for intentional abuse of the shot clock. In particular, Jack Salter and Anton Siden have been warned about running down their shot clocks. If it continues, their time to act will be reduced accordingly.

Khamidullin and Nolet on the Short Stack

Level 23 : 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante

At one table, Tony Miles raised to 60,000 and Guillaume Nolet called from the big blind. The flop came {9-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{4-Spades} and Nolet check-called a bet of 70,000 from Miles. The turn was the {2-Clubs} and Nolet check-folded this time to an all-in shove, leaving himself with around 350,000 chips.

Next door, Tomi Brouk opened to 70,000 and Timur Khamidullin three-bet to 230,000 on the button. Pablo Melogno four-bet to 405,000 in the small blind and the action was back on Khamidullin who shoved all in. Melogno quickly called off his stack of 1,670,000.

Pablo Melogno: {a-Spades}{a-Diamonds}
Timur Khamidullin: {k-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}

It was a cooler spot for Khamidullin who was unable to find any help on the board of {10-Clubs}{6-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}{2-Diamonds} as Melogno scored a massive double up into the chip lead.

Wigg Becomes First Elimination of Day 3

Level 23 : 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante
Anton Wigg
Anton Wigg

It folded to Chris Hunichen in the small blind who moved all in with Anton Wigg sitting on 440,000 in the big blind. Hunichen covered his opponent and Wigg called and was all in.

Chris Hunichen: {k-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}
Anton Wigg: {5-Clubs}{5-Hearts}

There was a king on the flop of {k-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} giving Hunichen the lead. He held on the {6-Diamonds}{3-Clubs} runout and sent Wigg to the rail as the first casualty of Day 3.

Hunichen Scores an Early Double

Level 23 : 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante

Tibor Nagygyorgy opened to 60,000 and Chris Hunichen three-bet all in from the next position for 350,000. Nagygyorgy quickly called with {k-Diamonds}{k-Hearts} but had run into the {a-Spades}{a-Diamonds} of Hunichen.

There was no help for Nagygyorgy on the {6-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{2-Spades}{4-Hearts} runout and Hunichen doubled up.

Just 26 Remain in €10,300 High Roller; Plays Down to a Winner Today

€10,300 EPT Barcelona High Roller
€10,300 EPT Barcelona High Roller

A gruelling day is in the offing here on Day 3 of the European Poker Tour Barcelona €10,300 High Roller as the remaining players must play down to a winner.

From a field of 540 just 26 remain, with Lander Lijo heading the chip counts with 2,050,000. That's good enough for 66 big blinds and with the average at less than 35 big blinds, the pace of bustouts, at least initially, should be pretty regular

Behind Lijo comes Antonios Paschalidis (2,015,000) and Timur Khamidullin (2,000,000), whilst at the bottom of the counts Jack Salter (300,000), Anton Siden (320,000), Guillaume Nolet (430,000) and Anton Wigg (445,000) will hope a good start can reignite their prospects of taking down the title.

The tournament is played with a shot clock and players will receive three extra time extensions at the start of play today, as well as three upon making the final table.

Stay tuned to PokerNews to follow all the live action right here from the Casino Barcelona.
