It's Time for the 50,000 Single-Day High Roller

Casino Barcelona
Casino Barcelona

Just one day after the largest buy-in tournament wrapped up in the 100,000 Super High Roller, it is now time for the 50,000 Single-Day High Roller to take place. The next largest buy-in will be a turbo structure with plenty of action leading up to a winner by the day's end.

There have been a couple of smaller single-day high rollers taking place over the past week and many of the big names in the poker world have taken part. As well, even some celebrities have made their way to Casino Barcelona for the 2019 PokerStars EPT Barcelona including Gerard Pique and Arturo Vidal who are both stars on FC Barcelona.

In last year's edition, there were a total of 54 entries that took to the felt with 15 of them being re-entries. Benjamin Pollak came out on top after topping his countryman Jean-Noel Thorel for a first-place prize of 979,000. There will be an unlimited number of re-entries to the players today and that could spur even more action and create an even larger prizepool.

The cards will go in the air at approximately 12:30 pm local time with each player receiving a starting stack of 100,000 chips. The blinds will begin at 500/1,000 with a big blind ante of 1,000 and the levels will be 30 minutes in length. There will be a 20-minute break after every four levels and a 75-minute dinner break after level 12. Late registration will remain open until the start of level 9. As with all high-rollers, a 30-second shot clock will be in play from the start with each player receiving six 30-second time banks.

The PokerNews live reporting team will be on the tournament floor to bring you all of the up-to-date action from the start until a winner is crowned.
