Dvoress Loses to Van Hoof and Obara

Level 10 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

Jun Obara check-called 60,000 from Daniel Dvoress on a {2-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{3-Spades} board and the pair checked the {2-Clubs} river.

Obara showed {5-Hearts}{7-Hearts} and took down the pot. Dvoress had jumped into an early lead, but is now the short stack at his table with 18 players left.

Kenney Sucks Out for a Double Up

Level 10 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

The action folded around to Bryn Kenney in the small blind who ripped all in for 72,000. Scott Margereson snapped him off from the big blind and was in good shape.

Scott Margereson: {a-Hearts}{q-Spades}
Bryn Kenney: {9-Diamonds}{5-Spades}

The flop of {q-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} gave Margereson a pair of queens but Kenney picked up the lone flush draw. The {2-Spades} paired the board on the turn but it was the {8-Diamonds} on the river that gave Kenney a flush and a double up.

Margereson got some redemption a couple of hands later when he eliminated Kitson Kho.

Heath Cracks Queens to Eliminate Levinskas

Level 10 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante
Ben Heath
Ben Heath

Ben Heath opened and Michael Soyza flat-called the 16,000 on the button. Laurynas Levinskas three-bet all in for 131,000 from the small blind and Heath four-bet all in for 296,000. Soyza folded.

Ben Heath: {9-Hearts}{9-Clubs}
Laurynas Levinskas: {q-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}

"I folded the third best hand," said Soyza as the flop came {8-Clubs}{7-Spades}{j-Diamonds}.

The turn {9-Spades} gave Heath a set, however, and Levinskas was eliminated on the {4-Spades} river.

Heath Takes Out Tang

Level 10 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

Ben Heath opened to 16,000 in early position and Danny Tang shoved all in for around 75,000 on his left. The action folded back to Heath who instantly called.

Ben Heath: {a-Clubs}{10-Hearts}
Danny Tang: {k-Clubs}{q-Spades}

The flop of {k-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{5-Clubs} gave both players a pair but Tang's was in the lead. The turn was the {8-Clubs} and the river was the {a-Hearts} to give Heath two pair and eliminate Tang.

Kho Doubles Through Margereson

Level 9 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

Luuk Gieles limped in middle position and Kitson Kho raised all in for 19,000. Scott Margereson three-bet all in from the button and the blinds and Gieles folded.

Kitson Kho: {j-Spades}{j-Hearts}
Luuk Gieles: {q-Spades}{k-Spades}

The {5-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{a-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{q-Hearts} looked like giving Gieles the pair he needed, but the queen on the river completed a flush for Kho and he doubled up.

Soyza Savours Blocker Bet; Still Loses Pot

Level 9 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante
Michael Soyza
Michael Soyza

On a {10-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{9-Diamonds} flop, Michael Soyza, Chin Wei Lim and Ben Heath all checked. The turn was the {j-Diamonds} and Soyza bet 16,000. Lim called and Heath folded.

The river was the {3-Hearts}. Soyza used a time extension before betting 15,000. Lim called.

Soyza showed {j-Hearts}{k-Spades} for a pair of jacks and Lim took down the pot with {a-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}

"Yes!" said Soyza. "Good block!"

"No," piped up Danny Tang. "Just bomb. And then he might fold. Instead of losing 15k you might win it all!"
