Nicolas Cottin

Nicolas Cottin raised to 1,600,000 from under the gun and Alejandro Lococo three-bet shoved all in on the button. Cottin took the better part of three minutes before calling it off for 12,100,000 total.

Nicolas Cottin: {a-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}
Alejandro Lococo: {10-Diamonds}{10-Spades}

The board ran out {j-Spades}{4-Clubs}{3-Spades}{7-Hearts}{8-Diamonds} and Cottin made his way to the payout desk in seventh place.

Merijn van Rooij Eliminated in 8th Place (€43,430)

Level 37 : 300,000/600,000, 600,000 ante
Merijn van Rooij
Merijn van Rooij

After Merijn van Rooij moved all-in from the hijack for 6.3 million, Nicolas Cottin slammed his shorter stack of 5.4 million into the middle from the big blind, putting himself at risk.

Nicolas Cottin: {10-Clubs}{10-Hearts}
Merijn van Rooij: {8-Diamonds}{8-Spades}

The board ran out {9-Spades}{j-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{k-Spades}{a-Diamonds}, giving Cottin the double up and putting Van Rooij under a million.

Two hands later, Van Rooij got his final 900,000 in preflop in early position, where he was called by Bartolomeo Tato in late position and Jon Kyte in the big blind.

The {7-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{k-Spades}{3-Clubs} board was checked down until the river, where Kyte flicked in 600,000, which Tato called.

Merijn van Rooij: {a-Spades}{5-Spades}
Bartolomeo Tato: {9-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}
Jon Kyte: {a-Hearts}{10-Spades}

With Kyte's superior kicker, Van Rooij was eliminated in 8th place.

Kyte Doubles Through Lococo

Level 36 : 250,000/500,000, 500,000 ante
Jon Kyte
Jon Kyte

Jon Kyte raised to 1,200,000 in middle position, Alejandro Lococo three-bet shoved from the big blind and Kyte immediately slammed a stack of chips in, indicating a call for 9,650,000 total.

Jon Kyte: {a-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}
Alejandro Lococo: {6-Hearts}{6-Clubs}

The {7-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} flop was fantastic for Kyte, leaving Lococo with just one of the remaining sixes in the deck and a backdoor straight draw. That draw opened up on the {4-Hearts} turn, bringing some concern on the Norwegian's face.

"Papo MC" bricked the river when the {7-Clubs} landed and Kyte's aces held for the double-up.

Alexandre Reard Eliminated in 9th Place (€32,860)

Level 36 : 250,000/500,000, 500,000 ante
Alexandre Reard
Alexandre Reard

Jon Kyte raised to 1,000,000 from middle position and Alejandro Lococo called from the cutoff. Alexandre Reard three-bet shoved around 8,000,000 on the button, Bartolomeo Tato came over the top from the small blind, and both Kyte and Lococo gave up their hands.

Alexandre Reard: {a-Diamonds}{k-Spades}
Bartolomeo Tato: {k-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}

Shortly after doubling up his Italian adversary, Reard found himself in another big clash with Tato, this time for his tournament life. The dealer fanned out {9-Spades}{7-Spades}{5-Spades}{3-Clubs}{10-Hearts} to seal Reard's fate, sending him to the rail in 9th place.

Tato Doubles Through Reard

Level 36 : 250,000/500,000, 500,000 ante
Bartolomeo Tato
Bartolomeo Tato

Bartolomeo Tato may have recently been in the danger zone, but after a double up and more, he's now soaring with Maverick and Goose in the chip counts.

Alejandro Lococo opened the action with a raise to 1.25 million in early position, which was called in middle position by Alexandre Reard. Tato then moved all-in from the cutoff for 5.7 million.

From there, Yann Nasser went deep into the tank for over three minutes before folding, later saying he folded {a-}{k-}. Action folded back to Lococo who thought briefly, then folded what he later said was {q-}{j-}. Reard then snap-called and flipped over his hand to put Tato at risk.

Bartolomeo Tato: {a-Hearts}{j-Spades}
Alexandre Reard: {k-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}

The {j-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{7-Spades} flop brought Tato some help, and if Lococo's claim of folding queen-jack was true, the case {j-Hearts} fell on the turn to give Tato a stranglehold on the hand. The {q-Spades} fell on the river to lock it up for Tato who earned a huge boost to his stack, while Reard is now on one of the short stacks.

Tato Slips, Enters Danger Zone

Level 36 : 250,000/500,000, 500,000 ante

Alejandro Lococo has been actively working the big stack and put in another raise, this time on the button to 1,250,000. Bartolomeo Tato defended the big blind to see a {10-Clubs}{8-Spades}{4-Hearts} flop appear.

Tato checked and "Papo MC" simply ripped it in, putting the Italian to the test for his remaining 6,000,000. Tato folded after some deliberation and Lococo moved up to nearly 30M in the process.

Players Growing Their Stacks With Three-Bet Shoves

Level 36 : 250,000/500,000, 500,000 ante

Despite a lack of calls versus all-in bets thus far at the final table, those that have had the courage (or hand strength) to put their tournament life at risk by moving in have benefitted.

In some recent hands, Bartolomeo Tato moved in for approximately seven million over a raise to a million by Merijn Van Rooij, who then folded.

jon Kyte then shoved on Alejandro Lococo for over ten million after the Argentinian MC opened to 1.25 million. Lococo folded to preserve his chip lead.

Then after Tato opened to a million, Ville Jantunen piled on him for almost six million before Tato folded.

Each of these players has added over two million to their stacks with a successful all-in bet getting a fold from their opponent.
