Hrabec Spikes River for Double Knockout

Level 18 : Blinds 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante
Roman Hrabec
Roman Hrabec

Ambreen Mirza had gotten her stack of about 100,000 in from early position, Smit Trivedi had gotten his stack of about 200,000 in on the button, and both players were at risk against Roman Hrabec in the hijack.

Ambreen Mirza: {a-Hearts}{q-Hearts}
Smit Trivedi: {q-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}
Roman Hrabec: {7-Spades}{7-Clubs}

The {a-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{3-Spades} flop put Mirza in front and she looked prime for a triple as the dealer burned and turned to the {j-Clubs}. However, the {7-Hearts} spiked the river to give Hrabec a set, eliminating both Mirza and Trivedi.

Talbot Downs Dressler

Level 18 : Blinds 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

Parker Talbot opened to 16,000 from early position before Christian Dressler jammed for 96,000 on the button. Talbot made the call and the players turned their cards over.

Christian Dressler: {k-Spades}{j-Spades}
Parker Talbot: {k-Clubs}{q-Hearts}

Dressler, who had started the day with the second biggest stack, was at risk and was dominated. The {a-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} flop was of no help to him but the Dressler paired up to take the lead on the {j-Hearts} turn.

The {10-Spades} river however, gave PokerStars' Talbot Broadway and Dressler was eliminated.

Miller Finds Runner-Runner for Double Knockout

Level 18 : Blinds 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante
Gary Miller
Gary Miller

Michael Schmitz opened the action by pushing his remaining 4,000 chips into the middle and action folded to Gary Miller, on the button, who raised to 14,000. Roman Hrabec took his time before calling from the small blind.

Action was on Raed Alawadhi, in the big blind, who also went all in for 80,000. Miller made the call and Hrabec let his hand go.

Miller covered both all in players and the hands were shown:

Michael Schmitz: {a-Spades}{7-Clubs}
Raed Alawadhi: {a-Hearts}{j-Hearts}
Gary Miller: {k-Hearts}{10-Clubs}

The flop came {8-Hearts}{a-Clubs}{2-Spades} and Alawadhi was out in front and looking for a complete double-up. The {k-Clubs} fell on the turn, which gave Miller some outs and the {10-Spades} on the river gave Miller runner-runner two pair to scoop the whole pot and send Schmitz and Alawadhi to the rail.

Bernstein Busts High Roller

Level 18 : Blinds 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

Francisco Benitez opened to 12,000 from the cutoff and was called by Ian Gascoigne and Michael Bernstein called from the blinds.

Action checked to Benitez on the {q-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{9-Clubs} flop, and he bet 12,000. Gascoigne called before Bernstein moved his 45,000 short stack into the middle. Benitiez made the quick fold and Gascoigne snap-called.

Gascoigne had the {k-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} for trips while Bernstein was behind with {q-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}. The {6-Hearts}{7-Diamonds} runout kept Gascoigne ahead while Bernstein headed out of the tournament area.

Zehetleitner Zooms Up Versus Zarghami

Level 18 : Blinds 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

Paul Zehetleitner had gotten his 94,000 chips in from middle position and was at risk against Emad Zarghami in early position.

Paul Zehetleitner: {k-Spades}{k-Diamonds}
Emad Zarghami: {a-Clubs}{k-Hearts}

The {q-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{7-Hearts} flop kept the cowboys in front, and although the {10-Hearts} turn provided Zarghami with a Broadway draw, the {9-Clubs} completed the board to secure the double for Zehetleitner.

Parker Talbot
Parker Talbot

PokerStars Ambassador Parker Talbot opened from middle position and Marc Foggin moved all in for 61,000 in the big blind. After getting a count, Talbot called.

Marc Foggin: {a-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}
Parker Talbot: {j-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}

"That's not cool, man," said Talbot upon seeing his hand was dominated, before the dealer spread the {j-Spades}{6-Hearts}{2-Diamonds} flop to vault him into the lead. "That's pretty cool though," he stated.

The {k-Spades} and {6-Spades} completed the board to confirm the early knockout for "tonkaaaaP”, while Foggin was eliminated.

Jorstad Hits the Rail

Level 17 : Blinds 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante
Espen Jorstad
Espen Jorstad

Espen Jorstad was all in for his last 5,000 from early position. Charlie Hawes then made it 18,000 from the cutoff before Jinho Hong raised to 50,000 from the big blind.

Hawes responded by jamming as the bigger stack and after a few moments, Hong flicked in the call.

Espen Jorstad: {k-Clubs}{4-Clubs}
Jinho Hong: {10-Clubs}{10-Spades}
Charlie Hawes: {a-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}

The pocket tens remained best on the {9-Spades}{3-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{q-Spades} runout. Hong found a double up through Hawes while also busting the 2022 WSOP Main Event Champion.
